Right now whites are mourning the death of The New Republic, a 100 year old magazine, with no blacks, that promoted racism - whites didn’t notice anything wrong.

1000s of Nazis were allowed to live in America, with Social Security included, while whites discriminated against American blacks up to and including raping and hanging - and it still hasn't occurred to the whites I know that juxtapositioning was wrong.

Blacks also weren't allowed to vote until 100 years after the laws were on the books - while white folks didn’t notice the wrong and even had to be urged, by MLK at his most eloquent, to see it.

And, today, Sean Hannity (as ignorant as the day is long) is "leading" televised conversations on race - and few whites see anything terribly wrong. They just don't see it.

I'm watching white men insisting, when they are falsely accused of rape by white women (Lena Dunham and Rolling Stone) it’s an outrage, while - historically - that's the reality white men and women have been foisting on black men for centuries. And they just don't see how they look as they battle and cry. They just don't see it.

The lynching photo on my last post went with a story about a white pr firm that didn't know the racist history behind the name they chose, "Strange Fruit." My last post was a reflection of my frustration: “I honestly don’t know what to say.” But then, I’m not a writer: I’m an artist-turned-blogger, trapped in a seemingly impossible situation created by others.

Oh BOY, being a poor guy running a blog that lives by donations, do I know this scene well - big bite quote ahead: 

It was inevitable that when Zimmerman was arrested and charged with murder, he had only one thing on his mind: how to pay for a private criminal defense lawyer. Knowing that his phone calls were being recorded while he was in jail pending bond (for a grand total of seven weeks) Zimmerman and his family spoke in code. They were all very grateful for the “support from SH”.

You didn’t need a crypto-analyst to figure out that “SH” was Sean Hannity. In July 2012, the Miami Herald reported that the anchor was believed to be financially backing Zimmerman’s defense.

It was kind of true. But Hannity, himself, did not shell out. He got a bunch of other people to pony up. On his nightly TV show, the Fox News man would furrow his brow and rant about what would become of America if we lost the right to shoot and kill people who scare us. Then Hannity would, helpfully, mention TheRealGeorge Zimmerman.com, a website that the real George Zimmerman had set up after he shot Trayvon Martin to death. The site, helpfully, accepted PayPal. Nearly half a million dollars double-clicked right in,....

...Of course, not every accused felon can get Sean Hannity as his personal cheerleader/rainmaker,...MaryJane, in Lansing, Michigan, is apparently fighting criminal cannabis growing charges. She says she needs weed because she has Lupus. She posts a photo of herself out-and-proud wearing a marijuana leaf necklace. She has raised $1,450. Gordon Smith, of Delmar, Delaware says that he has been falsely accused of domestic violence 24 times. He offers a video – “False Allegation Awareness: The Gordon Smith Story” – and he has raised $290. Darren Wilson, of St Charles, Missouri, has done a lot better. He has raised $433,000 ... because maybe some day he’ll be charged with something.

Wilson, of course, is the police officer who shot to death 18-year-old Michael Brown Jr, whose own family’s GoFundMe site has raised $339,000. As officer Wilson’s (currently inactive) fundraising sites promised: “All proceeds will be sent directly to Darren Wilson and his family for any financial needs they may have including legal fees.”

If he ever has legal fees. Right now, all Darren Wilson has is a lot of money because he killed someone.

Yep - as long as I went along with the folks who revealed themselves to be racists, some money rolled in. But - as soon as I called them on it - that shit dried up so fast, it might as well have never occurred. (I've been essentially homeless, for months, but do they care? Nope. They've told me to die - directly - for disagreeing, which is all I need to know to further judge them, and their politics,...) Meanwhile, I watch the Zimmerman's and the Wilson's raking in millions overnight - along with the politicians everyone (supposedly) hates or distrusts.

And they still wonder why I, and others like me, say - as Americans -  they're cruel and their priorities are all wrong,...

The Good Parts Of Slavery

Conservative firebrand Sean Hannity unleashed another volley of racially charged polemic on his radio show Thursday morning, this time targeting the critically acclaimed drama “12 Years a Slave.” Hannity called the film, which recounts the true story of a free slave, Solomon Northup, who was kidnapped and sold into slavery in 1841, “a sham” and “nothing more than an attempt to exploit white guilt and divide America.”

Director Steve McQueen’s historical drama has been lauded by critics for its unflinching portrayal of slavery’s horrors and drawn equal praise from filmgoers. Those who caught the film in its limited release last weekend assigned it an average grade of A, according to market research firm CinemaScore.

But Hannity encouraged his loyal supporters to “avoid falling into the liberal trap of a slavery guilt trip” as the film heads for wide release this weekend. “Seriously, how long has it been? How many times can you keep bringing [slavery] up after 150 years?” Hannity admitted that he has not seen the film, but said he could “tell that it draws out and exaggerates the bad parts of slavery the way only Hollywood can.”

“The only thing another slavery movie does, on top of pitting blacks against whites, is enable a minority culture of laziness and excuses. Maybe they should make a movie about black students who run away from hard work and responsibility. Call it ‘12 Years in School.’...”

An Edited Email I Sent To A Friend

 

 My former landlord/roommate had an accident, brain damage, and I helped with the months-long process of moving him into a home. His daughter is now my landlady. 

She's a chiropractor.

When I hurt my back, she started forcing her services on me. She lives out of state, but told me to see a colleague of hers, here. I told her I would - and would've, if only for being in the ironic situation I was in, as an anti-alternative medicine back patient with chiropractor for a landlady - but she never made the referral. Yesterday I found out why.

While having a conversation about my falling behind on my rent - $650.00 - I said, "Come on, you're a chiropractor, you must know what's happened to me." And she bellowed "DON'T ACT LIKE YOU HAVE ANY RESPECT FOR MY PROFESSION!" The venom really came pouring out after that.

It seems her father let her know my feelings on the subject, and I didn't make the proper chirping sounds when she offered the referral (hence her not making the appointment) and she's been stewing about it ever since, basically growing to hatred without saying a word to me until now. And now she wants me out. No amount of money can console her - nothing. She just wants me out and (while I don't know if it's legal with just a verbal warning) she's giving me three days to do it or she says she has "people" who will.

Since I can't tell you what you can or can't do, I'll tell you where I am:

A few months ago, when I got hit with the ulcer (the first ailment before my back, possibly, from dealing with her father) I had just gotten completely out of debt. My years of effort following (I'm not kidding) the Dave Ramsey/Sean Hannity advice of conquering it (put away as much of everything you get as possible, paying big bills first, etc./find a construction job) had paid off. I finally had all my things with me (that had been sitting in storage, in California, for years), plans for my new record, and about $5,000 in the bank. I was actually dancing around the house I was so happy - it worked - and I'd done it! The old fashioned way.

Then I got struck down. My first prescription was for $800 - and it was one of three. More followed. It's been one thing after another after that. Even a Country song - my truck broke down during it all.

I am now $4,000 in debt. That's it. Not insurmountable, just a violent set-back for a guy like me.

I'm not asking anyone for that. I've desperately got to get my stuff into storage and me out of here. That's it.

If you can help - any amount - I'd even appreciate a loan. I am responsible, just - shit happens. My back's much better, I've just sworn off chairs. I'll do what I have to do.

Joe Scarborough Almost Called Sean Hannity A Racist

I'm adding some new sites to my surfing these days, as I'm getting sick of the usual slack jaw I see repeatedly, and whattayaknow? I find an old clip of Morning Joe, livid, that Sean Hannity would repeat  the Right's oft-repeated charge that Trayvon Martin had it coming. 

Quite revealing because, within the PJ Media/Hot Air/Ace of Spades/Red State loop, you'd never know it happened. Truthfully, within that scene, you'd never know anyone thought about a black person, as a person, unless he or she is a conservative. Outside of that, anything goes, baby, and it does indeed go - straight into the gutter.

Anyway, I missed this, but I'm glad to see it, if only to remind me (and you) there's more going on than this nasty standing water the Right's currently wading in. 

Whites Want Blacks To Be Aware (Of Their Problems)

Except for that black guy who got beat up protesting ObamaCare, this is true of conservatives overall:

  Black people who have been clearly wronged are virtually nonexistent in Hannity’s world.

 Considering everything that happens to white people, is it any surprise some don't think we exist?

Isn't it wild, how understanding everyone is, when you're on the same side?

In his novel Empire of Lies, the very wise and extraordinarily attractive author has one of his characters declare that, “In an empire of lies, only a crazy man would speak the truth.” The character then goes on to explain that the empire can then destroy the crazy man, not for the truth he speaks, but for doing the crazy things that crazy people do. 

Ann and Rush, Sean and Glenn aren’t crazy, but the sort of person willing to hurl himself against the vast machinery of the left-wing information empire is not likely to be all that concerned about decorum. This puts a weapon of slander in the hands of the left-wing media and they use it effectively to demonize these truth-tellers and stopper the ears of those who might hear them and be convinced. 

It’s easy to be calm and polite when you have the power to destroy the reputations of your enemies — it’s a lot tougher for the rebel brave enough to fight back.
