Think For Yourself Or I Won't Be There With You

It was after I had ordered coffee at a Starbuck's, and the barrista asked if I wanted a "sweet treat receipt," that this very thought occurred to me. How else could they get an adult to utter such a childish thing? The horror of envisioning the process - that Starbuck's actually paid someone, well, to come up with that line and now, other adults say it to even more adults with a straight face - drove the point home, physically, nauseously, before I could fully grasp it psychologically.

Am I worried about corporate lobbyists? Hell no:

My daily encounters are with their willing parrots,....

It's Even Worse When Your Friends Can't Take Criticism (& Nobody Taking Your Word Always Says You're Equal)

The Root has a question for Americans making monkey noises over black names - What About Those Nontraditional 'White' Names?
“Seriously, I will take your ‘questions’ about ‘weird’ black names seriously when you make fun of Reince Priebus and Rand Paul. White people giving their kids names like Saxby Chambliss and Tagg Romney is a clear sign of cultural pathology.” If names like “DeShawn” and “Shanice” are fair targets for ridicule, then the same should be true for “Saxby” and “Tagg.”
... Like Bouie stated, apparently these so-called “black” names are treated inferior.  So it’s completely fine for a kid to walk around with the name “Apple”, but “Laquan” isn’t? Dweeezil, is completely fine. Shaniqua, oh that’s ghetto. A few months ago I noticed someone on Facebook posting the name of their new son, I had to raise an eyebrow. Skywalker? Really, dude? You can name your child after a Star Wars character and no one raises an eyebrow. Now that’s what you call white privilege.

Though I understand it, I'm not really big on the whole "white privilege" argument (actually, I just hate jargon) but I am having a pretty hard time understanding how whites can live in this country, with these demographics, and A) complain it's anyone else that's been ruining the place, or B) can't imagine - with this nation's history and temperament - why anybody else would feel under pressure based on racial animosity.

I figure, when it comes to comfort level, white Americans have always assumed everybody's got it as good as they've had it.

That anyone would deny there are understandable reasons for black behavior - including a current lack of understanding by whites that has undeniably hurt blacks - is, frankly, shocking.

I think I understand it anyway:

As we're outnumbered by whites - as opposed to being integrated with them - besides being shocked, we're supposed to silently die from it:

And, I guess the "good" news is, we still do,....

It's Like That Song, "I Got No Strings To Hold Me Down"

This Ebony column raises a good question (What? You don't read The Black Bible, white folks? I wonder why,...):

What city do blacks mention when discussing white pathology

Whites have made their choice clear:

Oooh - he sounds "troubled" too - better alert the Navy.

I'd say it was just his imagination, except I've seen this on a lot of conservative sites, so I can't.

Sorry, defenders of the status quo:

Based on the reactions I've been getting, I don't think a lot of whites have understood how any of this feels since MLK died,...

Dead In Motion By The Anti-Pop Consortium Is Spot-On

This quote is so wrong-headed it's embarrassing:
There's never been a time when rap didn't have to defend itself. The culture perpetually generates criticism and accusations from every corner: from the political establishment; from proponents of other types of music; and, most crucially, from itself.
Luckily, rap is particularly well equipped to absorb all the criticism it invites, because rap, by its very nature, is a culture in which almost nothing is impermissible. Pathological narcissism, poor taste, and criminal behavior are punishable traits by the standards of the mainstream culture. But within rap, even the most shameful acts are defensible, if only because rap is meant to be a melting pot of egregious behavior and reckless judgment.

Gee, what could I get to counter that argument? How about a never-complained-about True Sounds Of Liberty doing "Code Blue"?

I never got along with the girls at my school

Filling me up with all their morals and their rules

They'd pile all their problems on my head

I'd rather go out and fuck the dead

'Cause I can do what I want and they won't complain

I wanna fuck I wanna fuck the dead

Middle of the night so silently

I creep on over to the mortuary

Lift up the casket and fiddle with the dead

Their cold blue flesh makes me turn red

'Cause I can do what I want and they won't complain

I wanna fuck I wanna fuck the dead

And I don't even care how she died...
But I like it better if she smells of formaldehyde!

Never on the rag or say leave me alone

They don't scream and they don't moan

Don't even cry if I shoot in their hair

Lying on the table she smiles and she stares

Chorus

So, Rock songs about fucking dead girls - performed without irony - are A-O.K., but let a Rapper call a feminist "bitch" and it's the end of Western civilization.

Race problem? What race problem? This is something different altogether.

Until recently, I haven't mentioned race on TMR, and there's a reason:

Too busy discussing American racial double standards with the corpse in my basement,...

(Cult) Context

On the micro level, it looks like Scientology killed someone else.

On the macro level, it looks like Mickey Kaus noticed something about the president:
"Obama isn’t vague or incoherent. He’s quite precise about where he wants to go–namely back to something like what we had three decades ago. If his means don’t come close to matching his ends, if they even subvert them, that seems a more troubling, almost pathological mismatch, in which liberalism becomes a sort of cargo cult whose mechanisms have zero hope of achieving the desired results."
And here in the middle, everybody shrugs because they're listening to smart people,...

Birthing Beatlemania From A Cavern In Germany (Again)

Quotes from Megan McArdle's "Whistleblowers Are Weird":

"Last night I saw a few tweets from people I respect noting that in coming days, NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden may not look as noble as we now think him.  (I hope I'm wrong, one added.)"
"Imagine trash talking your family, your employer, or your country on national television--in a language that none of them speaks. In other words, imagine being disloyal in a way that was not detectable by the people you were betraying.  You probably still wouldn't do it anyway, would you?  It feels wrong.  You would feel bad about yourself if you did it."
"Psychopaths feel no guilt about doing these things--or stealing your money, your wife, and your dog. They are fundamentally untrustworthy, though also, thankfully rare."
"In coming days we will almost certainly realize that Edward Snowden is not like the rest of us. In fact, the details of his resume already released hint as much: a high school dropout somehow turned intelligence worker, who kept his live-in girlfriend in the dark about what he was doing and told her he was going on a business trip while he disappeared to Hong Kong. That's a hell of a way to break up with someone."

I'll stop there, since I never thought of this prick - or his supporters - as "noble."

Other than Edward Snowden causing some kind of destruction back home, I can think of only two things Megan McArdle and her delusional friends (not "we") have actually been rooting for:

1. MORE destruction back home - not just Snowden's girlfriend.

2. Snowden's girlfriend gets over it quickly, so she'll be cool enough to screw other ways.

Rest assured, that's when the screams become so loud you can't hear them playing,....

Supertramp

"I wonder if you realize how powerfully your message is resonating?

I am reading loud and clear on this end and I must tell you that until a few months ago I always thought that homeopathy was a quite harmless diversion for the willfully ignorant, and so, not attention worthy.

The scales have fallen."
No, Anga2010, offline, I mostly exist alone, entertaining my (few) friends with tale after tale of the "spiritual" mindlessness I've discovered - like the doofus, above, who wanted to be buried on his motorcycle - enjoying my companions wide-eyed exclamations of "You're kidding?" and "Oh. My. God." as I reveal the confusion and pathologies of the "spirit world" to them.

Online, it's a totally different story:

Being a curmudgeon (with the exception of Snow White's "Grumpy", probably the least appreciated species of human) I'm either ignored, harassed, ridiculed, or hated - which is fine, because a lot of people online are involved in NewAge at some level, whether they know it or not, and I know from experience that getting a hint they're part of something so stupid (delivered in my trademark style) is, ultimately, insulting to their sense of themselves as supposed-thinking people. I mean, they hold "important" jobs and everything, so how can they be idiots/gullible/wrong? It must be me - because I'm "mean" - and we all know "Mean People Suck", right?

Right?

Anyway, I'm glad you're out of the "water as medicine" maze, as it's capable of making you look like a fool at parties. Or you might murder someone (as my ex-wife, Karine Anne Brunck, did) or, just as likely, cause something else bad to happen:

You just never know where delusion will lead.

Thanks for writing.

It's very gratifying to discover, after all this time, some more good is coming from it all.

Taking A Little Off The Top

"We really do find pleasure in other people being mocked and slammed. The other thing is that most people consider the whole celebrity culture a little pathological. And these kind of really raw acidic attacks on these individual celebrities, to some extent, are an indictment of celebrity culture in general."

-- Robert Thompson, a Syracuse University professor of popular culture, commenting on Eminem's latest musical offerings - which we haven't heard and expect to be awful - but, even though we don't care for his later work, we'd be hypocrites if we didn't say we welcome Rap's White Lion back to the fold, in The New York Daily News.

“You’re Fired”…And You’re A Psychopathic Slut

We were under the impression that contestants were supposed to be the best and brightest, but It appears that to be on the British ‘Apprentice’ you need to be some kind of stupid or a loser. To wit:

Kate Hopkins is pottering around her kitchen with her three young children, working her way contentedly through the daily domestic routine and reeling off a list as she goes.

'There was the £1 million family home, the London flat which fetched another £500,000 .. . a couple of pension plans ... the people carrier and three other cars . . . boarding school education adding up to half a million pounds . . . not to mention the gym memberships.'

It sounds as if she is proudly listing the trappings of her own achievements as a successful businesswoman and former The Apprentice candidate. In fact, she's reeling off the cost of her selfish and infamous love life to the married men who have crossed her path.

Yes, this is her.

There have, she admits, been affairs with three such men, as well as a broken marriage of her own.

'Aside from all those things which those men lost or had to pay for, there was also the cost of two barristers on retainers - including Prince Charles's lawyer Fiona Shackleton - because their affairs with me led to costly divorces.'

She pauses, before adding: 'It's only the other day that I started to think about all of these financial consequences. Up until then, I don't think I had felt much remorse. At the time I had the affairs, I was in love and interested only in my own happiness.

'But once I listed everything and saw the figures stacking up, I felt guilty about the poor men with whom I had affairs.

'I inflicted pain on others. It was only once I actually became a mother that I started to really think about the children involved and, yes, I did feel bad.

'I look at my own life now, as a mother-of-three with a partner I love, and I know I am happier than I've ever been. But it's been at a tremendous emotional and financial cost.

'I estimate that it has cost up to £3 million in divorce costs and lost assets for the men involved with me. That's how much has been lost for me finally to achieve this happiness.'
The Daily Mail

Don’t be fooled. This narcissist-psychopathic swine has no remorse or regrets at all. Read her comments carefully and you’ll see it’s all about her. In fact, in the last two paragraphs she’s actually openly fishing for sympathy.

Sometimes it’s a wistful shame that murder is illegal.

But wait…We’re not done…

What the hell is up with all of these empty-sack, desperate and needy sissy turds who keep walking into this?

She says she has a partner now, so what is it about him that ignores her completely sleazy history? And don’t think for an instant she has changed or learned anything. It is a hallmark of narcissists/psychopaths to never, never, never change. And therapy always makes them worse.

Here is an actual shot of her with one of her needy, dickless sissy guys:

This doesn’t resemble affection, it looks a lot like some ball-less toddler who doesn’t want mommy to leave. Note how she’s NOT holding him.

So for you pukes who think you’ll be “the one” to “save” her… you’re out. You can’t say our words, you can’t hum our tune, you can’t sing our song.

You have volunteered to crawl on the earth and you willingly signed up for a dirty sleazy life.

To you, pussy-boy shit-eater, we can only say…fuck you.
