Does Supporting The Project Of Liars With Your Vote Make You A Good Person?

In the Navy, they use the acronym K.I.S.S. - "Keep It Simple, Stupid" - which I thought was smart, so I try to apply it to all things:

So - we, finally, get some truth - but ain't it like pulling teeth with some people? And it's a political truth, finally, from someone who's gay, or (as I'm saying nowadays) living the Harvey Milk lie.

Now, we know, a liar has been leading the charge against President Trump - isn't THAT revealing? What does it say about the integrity of the Lincoln Project, and what it's been doing to destroy one man? All the people they've misled? The other people involved with it are just as low. And yet, the Democrats encouraged them. Wallowed in what they said. That's just who they are.
Ladies and Gentlemen - ethically, morally - there IS a fungus among us.

DEVO-LUTION: A Life In Music Is Funny (Mine Is Anyway)

There was once this band out of Akron, Ohio, who found they wanted to change their sound.

And - while in Los Angeles - they heard that new sound in a kid visiting from Minneapolis, Minnesota.

The band went on to write their biggest hit.

But their record company couldn't hear "Whip It" immediately - they rallied around a song called "Girl U Want" and pushed it HARD - but it still flopped. And they blamed the band.

The band didn't know why. DEVO co-founding member, Gerald Casale, recently said:
"I love that song. I guess If Axl Rose covered it, it would have been a No. 1 hit."

Why am I telling you this? Because I was born and raised in Los Angeles, and just happened to work for a radio station.

While there, I also heard someone from Minneapolis, Minnesota who inspired me to explore music further.
And, once I did, wouldn't you know comparisons started being made to Axl Rose?

I just want to tell DEVO to blame their record company: despite the fans loving it, using "Girl U Want" as the middle eighth to one of my songs didn't do shit for my career, either.

What I'm Listening To - While Everyone Sucks Prince's Dick For Two Albums Of Uninspired NewAge Garbage

Prince On SNL: 8 Minutes Of Nothing - With Women

I tried, twice, to get through this mess of a performance, but,...it wasn't happening. I gave up, the first time, after a minute. The second time, four minutes in. And no, it wasn't the "third eye" glasses or his more-than-a-little-late invocation of "NewAge" (blech and more blech) but the lack of memorable hooks or anything remotely approaching a reason to watch.

So he's now performing with women - so what? The music sucks and artists don't give legacy credit. If this is what's on his two new albums, I'm glad I never explored them, or bought anything else in years:

Where we used to run the show, the cultural output of this country is dwindling to almost nothing,...

Zappa Knew: Why Many Female Teachers Are Blowing It

Frank Zappa, testifying at the PMRC Senate Hearing to clean up Rock lyrics, 1984:
"No one has forced Mrs. Baker or Mrs. Gore to bring Prince or Sheena Easton into their homes. Thanks to the constitution, they are free to buy other forms of music for their children. Apparently, they insist on purchasing the work of contemporary recording artists in order to support a personal illusion of aerobic sophistication."

The National Education Association, dancing to “Wobble” by V.I.C., 2013:
"A girl told me that a man that could dance
might could possibly get down with the tool in his pants.

Now all my ladies let me see you vibrate

And when it’s over you ain’t gon' need ya vibrator.
Cause I’m a pro, make ya bend ya back low,
then just pound it real fast just like percolator."

It's No Wonder Prince Has Remade "Let's Go Crazy"

Ann Althouse cribbed this line from Matt Tiabbi of Rolling Stone:
This morning's David Brooks column on same-sex marriage was one of the weirdest, most mean-spirited things I've ever seen in The New York Times.
See, this is why I bag on the dumb blonde and could give a shit about Rolling Stone, too. "The weirdest"? Did they, both, miss The New York Times article (I linked to yesterday) about pet psychics? That was perfectly sane, compared to David Brooks' thoughts on gay marriage, right?
And, if it isn't, we can't count on Ann Althouse or Matt Tiabbi to tell us, can we? Why not? Because they're both ethical bottom feeders, that's why:

These people - now arguing for unknown "rights" and demanding we change - they're disturbed.

BTW - Here's the Prince song. It sucks, like all his stuff since becoming a megalomaniac...

Destroying Happiness (Over A Stupid Idea Of Love,...)

I like how this article makes clear that things can be destroyed for wrong reasons - and the good guys made to be the enemy - all because cultists are "stuck on stupid" and can get lots of public back-up for their stubbornness:
The differences between any area of conventional and alternative medicine are diverse and profound.

Take neurology, for instance: here we have an organ-system, anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, aetiology and nosology all related more or less specifically to this field and that are all based on sound knowledge and rigorous science, as well as substantial evidence. None of this knowledge, science and evidence is static, but each has evolved and can be predicted to do so in future. What we knew about any neurological phenomenon 50 years ago, for example, was dramatically different from what we know today. All of this scientific discovery links up with the knowledge gathered in other areas of medicine to generate a more or less complete bigger picture.

In alternative medicine or any single branch thereof, we have no specific organ-system, anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, aetiology or nosology that is based on scientific discovery.

We also have few notions that are transferable from one branch of alternative medicine to another – on the contrary, the notions of homeopathy, for example, are in overt contradiction to those of acupuncture which, in turn, are out of sync with those of reflexology, aromatherapy and Reiki.

Instead, each branch of alternative medicine has its own axioms that are largely detached from reality or, indeed, from the axioms of other branches of alternative medicine.

In acupuncture, for instance, we have concepts such as yin and yang, life energies, meridians and acupuncture points, all of which fly in the face of science. Moreover, there is hardly any development these of concepts, which renders them akin to dogmas, and there is little evidence that the combination of all the branches of alternative medicine would add up to provide a sensible ‘bigger picture’.

If a scientist were to instill scientific, critical, progressive thought in a field like neurology, they would be greeted with open arms among many like-minded researchers who all pursue the aim of advancing their field and contributing to the knowledge base by overturning wrong assumptions and discovering new truths.
On the other hand, if researchers were to spend their time trying to back up dodgy concepts or bogus treatments, they would most likely not be appreciated by the majority of the experts working in this field.

By contrast, if someone wanted to evaluate homeopathy, acupuncture or other alternative therapies in a rigorous and critical fashion, they would inevitably discover that many of the concepts are highly questionable, based on wishful thinking or beliefs that are so strongly held that doubting them is tantamount to a sacrilege.
If this scientist nonetheless exposed these deficits to the world or conducted research that predictably fails to confirm what wishful thinkers had assumed, they would not make many friends among the proponents of alternative medicine.

If this scientist dedicated decades of hard work to these tasks, that person would become a thorn in the flesh of believers. Instead of welcoming the scientist with open arms, some disappointed enthusiasts of alternative treatments might even pay for defaming them.

On the other hand, if researchers merely tried to confirm the implausible assumptions of alternative medicine, they might well become the celebrated ‘heroes’ of this field.
Yep, so I'm regularly framed to be the bad guy - because I'm not willing to give-in to nonsense and, since I usually stand alone, I'm angry about it being pushed on us - while those indulging in quackery have all the friends in the world because they're always so "nice" about spreading misinformation in a culture/atmosphere that's (somehow) friendly to insane claims.

With Friends Like These,...

"Van Jones, Obama’s special adviser for green jobs at the White House Council on Environmental Quality, told JET that celebrities including Russell Simmons and Prince have contacted him looking for ways to join Obama’s team."

-- Crushing Quiet, in an August 23rd posting - reminding us that, along with racist conspiracy theorists from Oakland, Obama's NewAge campaign has also inspired the music world's most exploitive, divorced, self-help book-writing Buddhist, and it's most hypocritical sex-promoting Jehovah’s Witness to get into government work (Prince, as a JW, doesn't even vote!) because, as we all know, these two most important voting-and-music-buying demographics must be covered, digitally, or it wouldn't be Twenty Four Bit News.

Hopefully, He Leaves His Guitar At Home

"Pop star Prince is showing up at people's houses as he tries to preach to them as a Jehovah's Witness, which he converted to in 2001. Some fans are so stunned when they find him at their doorstep that he finds it hard to get away.

'Sometimes fans freak out. It might be a shock to see me, but that's no reason for people to act crazy, and it doesn't give them licence [sic] to chase me down the street,' he told USA Today,...”
