I know, especially around the Althouse, there's this shallow practice of interpreting Drudge's photo placement for "hidden meanings" - like he's not Geekzilla in a fedora but some fucking News Oracle or something (What's with Right-wing whites in fedoras? Ask Roger Simon, maybe,...)  

(Since they're hung up on visuals, has anybody actually looked at Matt Drudge? What does that tell you? Has he ever actually said or written anything of any significance? Is he even capable of it?) 

This (supposedly-non-NewAge) ritual, of trying to understand journalism by reading Matt's tea leaves, revolves around Drudge's placement of photos (something I know a thing or two about) but never his words, though words are how he truly tells the tale:

"Bar Owner Threatens Graffiti Artists..."

Drudge didn't write that - he wouldn't - that would be too honest. Here's what Drudge wrote:

"Black Detroit Bar Owner Threatens To Use Deadly Force Against White Teen Graffiti Artists..."

Pure exploitation. And how stupid do you have to be to fall for it? Using Drudge's popular outlook, I'd say white feminist college professor-level, at least. (And we can't leave out Glenn Reynolds' Instapundit when it comes to spreading nonsense,....) Is it any wonder I'm sick of all of them?

I don't know about you, but I didn't wake up to have my chain yanked racially - and don't get a kick out of it. I also don't like that I can't get to the people who do it, nor can I get the ones, I can talk to, to change.

Underneath all the politics, that's what's so crazy-making, running rampant, and still going unspoken in all this talk of "spirituality", "life coaches," "preachers" and "gurus", along with all these "followers" on a "never-ending search":

How do the rest of us deal with the insecure (mostly women) insisting on allowing others into, and to take control of, their lives - to the detriment of their spouses and families? How Family Law backs fanaticism. How, if this country was serious about marriage, we wouldn't be bringing gays into a dysfunctional system, but discovered how many lives are destroyed by it.

And they won't get it - because they're rewarded for not getting it. 

All this talk of the need for minorities. Well, I've been here, what are they doing? Nothing to bring me closer. I'm stepping away from them. Fuck the talk, that's the evidence. We're primed to take our next big leap but they expect us to flirt with them for not doing it:

 Let's see, we've done sex and spirituality, so why leave out the results:

Margery Wakefield surprised us this week by sending us a new affidavit that she decided to put into the public record. 

We certainly remembered an affidavit she made in 1993. Margery had startling things to say about working as a volunteer for Scientology’s intelligence operations, the Guardian’s Office, back in the 1970s and early 1980s. 

Now, she’s revealed even more about her time in Scientology. And though she says it was difficult for her, this time she’s going public with a shocking part of her past: she says the Church of Scientology forced her to have six abortions during her time as a member. 

We told Margery that we felt honored that she’d allow the Underground Bunker to make her new affidavit public. We asked her for just a few words about her current situation to help set up her new document. 

“I live in Colorado. I’m a retired social worker. I’m an avid critic of the Church of Scientology. But I’m always willing to dialogue with anyone. Please give out my e-mail address. [ wakefieldmarge@yahoo.com ] I can answer questions about the inner workings of the church,” she told us. 

We asked what changes she’s seen in Scientology since her affidavit from 20 years ago. 

“I don’t think OSA has changed much from the Guardian’s Office I worked in,” she said, referring to the church’s current intelligence service — the Office of Special Affairs — which replaced the GO after it was disbanded in 1981. 

“The management of the church is certainly different. I think that it’s more dangerous in some ways than it was 20 years ago. In other ways it’s less dangerous. So overall I think it’s about the same,” she said. “Their object is still to take over the world, to clear the planet. And they’ll go to any lengths to do that.”
