Fuck This

Hat Tip: I Own The World

2/8/10 UPDATE: I've run across a site with this NewAge fool, David Roberts, attempting to defend this piece of shit commercial. After saying "the Super Bowl commercials this year [were] unusually ugly, misogynistic, and, worst of all, unfunny" he goes on to say they were probably appealing to "Teabag America" and "angry white men" - which, in his mind, doesn't include David Roberts, who comes across as an, um, "angry white male". (Isn't it funny how my conservative green-hating black ass never comes up in these discussions? It's like Rush haters attacking Limbaugh for racism, without acknowledging his very-black producer, Bo Snerdley, or listeners such as myself. Cognitive dissonance, anyone? Or are you just liars?) And get this nonsense:
"The ad only makes sense if it’s aimed at people who acknowledge the moral authority of the green police—people who may find those obligations tiresome and constraining on occasion, who only fitfully meet them, who may be annoyed by sticklers and naggers, but who recognize that living more sustainably is in fact the moral thing to do. This basically describes every guy I know."
That means David Roberts - and every guy he knows - is a douchebag. (Remember that old joke about the liberal who doesn't understand how Republicans keep winning elections since he doesn't know any?)

David says he and his easily-nagged-and-manipulated friends, currently bowing to (white) Al Gore's made-up "authority", are "guys who want to be good" and are into doing "the moral thing". Well, I've got a bit of non-green advice for all these achingly-politically correct dolts if they ever want to be successful, ethically:

Abandoning racism is not only a "good" place to start, but it'll also stop you from looking like idiots.

ANOTHER UPDATE: Here's a nice related quote from Arnold Kling that sums things up nicely:
"The ones throwing the temper tantrum right now are the Progressives. They think that the 2008 election gave them the right to operate like China’s autocracy, and they are lashing out hysterically at those they perceive as preventing them from doing so. On the one hand, the villains are a small minority in the Senate. Or maybe the villains are the incoherent majority of the people. The important point is that Progressives are never wrong."
Not even when they're being openly racist as hell,...

  1. I found that commercial very disgusting!
They tried to be 'cute', but the 8 of us that were watching thought it was far from it.

  2. I think the reaction is hysterically funny. Haters of Greens laugh at the Green Police...Greens beam with pride thinking their dream fulfillment is being shown.

So Audi is brill. People on both sides think the commercial is playing to them. :-)
