Ted Cruz: A Weak, Pathetic, Sad, Delusional, Politician

I betcha he lost every time he played The Dozens:
“I’m going to be going to the White House. If I’m never seen again, please send a search and rescue team. I very much hope by tomorrow morning I don’t wake up amidst the Syrian rebels.”
That that line would work - on anybody - is all the evidence I need of how lame this all is,...

  1. I am sure you can hang with Lindsay Graham, Peter King, and John McCain.

Sorry, I support what Ted Cruz is doing.

  2. Ok, I have to ask: just what exactly IS Ted Cruz doing? And from there: what exactly makes it a good idea?

So far all I've seen is "making people even more pissed off than they were previously" is the only thing.
Seriously, the President/Democrats do have people pissed off, but the Republicans aren't exactly winning any popularity contests themselves. People seem to be pretty much tired of both -- unless of course those people are hard core party/movement loyalists from either side (which at least down where I'm at, doesn't seem to be the majority -- of any creed, color, or whatever -- I live in a backwoods, economically depressed area though, so that's probably it: the bumpkins are just too ignorant to know what's good for them; yeah, that has to be it).

  3. Yeah, one of the great things about living in backofbeyond in the Land of Lincoln is: most folks are far too cognizant of the corruption and shenanigans that go on both sides to actually give a shit about party loyalty (that includes the Tea Party -- it tried to take off here; died within the first few months, got heckled the first time they had a meeting and some politician types were speakers...everyone down here knows not to trust an Illinois politician, no matter what party they hail from...The Combine is well known).

  4. In fairness, I should also add that the OWS movement got much the same treatment: one, if was primarily made up of college kids and professors (not a popular group under the best of circumstances with the average folks -- this is a pretty rural, blue collar poor area of the country even in the best of times...the local colleges are not viewed with a lot of trust); two, when they started getting a whole bunch of freebie food from local, sympathetic businesses and did their little tent camps it put them right in the target zone for heckling (did I mention that the area is poor? did I mention that a lot of the people around here, of all colors, creeds, etc. actually work, but barely have enough to make ends meet? the food banks and soup kitchens around here don't just serve the homeless or the non-working; EBT cards are pretty common, "welfare queens" are not, across the spectrum).

Kinda hard to thump your collective chest about being for the 99% when you're pigging out on free pizza and Starbucks, and the actual 99% are having to take their kids to the Catholic soup kitchen on a weekly basis...tends to get you heckled, tends to get you threatened even, or at the very least, ignored and disdained (see Tea Party in my above post).

  5. Cow - All I see is a group wanting credit for starting shit, but crying the other guys are bad when they can't finish it.

    Thanks for the milk, too.
