The Case For Reparations

2 comments:

  1. What, exactly, would be fixed? Pick a number--$20,000? $100,000? $200,000? And then just have Uncle Sam write the checks. Of course, we'd need to further parse society, separate those black Americans who are actually connected, somehow (unlike Barry and Eric Holder) to the USA's history of slavery and racism from the dude who's family came to the country in, say, 1985.

But let's assume it can be done. Snap a line on the melanin scale and just write the checks.

WTF happens in two years when the people who have the money now have it again? Hard to blame racism--that debt was PAID. Who you going to look to?

  2. Two things:

    1) It's obvious, from your answer, you didn't read it - that's speaking in bad faith.

    2) What kind of racist mindset makes you think blacks can't handle money? Wasn't it whites who just sank the economy? Hasn't it been whites who needed slaves because whites wouldn't work?

You need to re-think your most basic assumptions, like there's something wrong with returning things to their rightful owners,...
