They Always Tell You This AFTER Saying It's Wonderful

Physical slavery. Mental slavery. Westerners love slavery - can't get enough of it. Got to have control, bitch.

Anyone who understands slavery, knows, it's all about the training. Free your mind and your ass will follow. And (once you've bought into the mind/body connection) Massa - and I don't care if it's a plantation master or a reiki master - Massa's got something to put in both:

Understatement. I've said it, and I'll say it again:

Because Mommy and Daddy didn't instill even an iota of critical thinking skills in their little princess, some asshole got to have all the "fun" and we get stuck, being told to idolize some extremely-bendable, but empty-headed, husk of a "healthy" human being even her own folly discarded.

The "smart and independent" cartoon who HAS to get to yoga class - which is only exercise. So are the retreats. And only eating certain foods. And claiming to be "spiritual" and, maybe, even a god. You know, the god of exercise.

And complaining. About the city. She's got to get out of the city. And she's got to take alternative medicine. And she's got to shop at Whole Foods because other supermarkets want to kill us. But, there's no telling how she knows that, since she doesn't watch the "negative" news. (She can't handle anything "negative".) She also can't make the all-important choice between detox or a fast. And then comes "energy" and,…sigh.

From a physical slave's point of view - and trying to look at it on the bright side - hey, at least they get used to bending over,….

Songs Like "Black Magic Woman" Should've Been A Tip-Off Marriage Wouldn't Survive Their Occult Madness

As far as I know, Professor Edzard Ernst - out of all the professors I've spoken with in various fields - is the first one to make the connection, openly state, and agree with, a central tenet of this blog:
"Making people believe in mystic 'energies' undermines rationality in a much more general sense. If this happens, the harm to society would be incalculable and extends far beyond health care."

Considering "this happens," pretty consistently, and has been since the 60s - and don't get me started on the ramped up effect of, say, Oprah Winfrey's show on the populace - I'd say we've been in deep doo-doo for a long time. So long, most can't even comprehend what "incalculable" damage they've been doing for decades.

"Political expression on the Left in the American sixties was split. Radical activists such as Students for a Democratic Society (1960-68) drew their ideology from Marxism, with its explicit atheism. But demonstrations with a large hippie contingent often mixed politics with occultism-magic and witchcraft along with costumes and symbolism drawn from Native American religion, Hinduism, and Buddhism. For example, at the mammoth antiwar protest near Washington, DC, in October 1967, Yippies performed a mock-exorcism to levitate the Pentagon and cast out its demons. Not since early nineteenth-century Romanticism had there been such a strange mix of revolutionary politics with ecstatic nature-worship and sex-charged self-transformation.

As my father used to say, "I've never seen so many zombies in all my life,..."

Arianna Huffinton & AOL: Ride A Painted Pony

If anyone ever wanted proof NewAgers have no values, they need look no further than Arianna Huffington:
Although Arianna Huffington has achieved worldwide fame as an internet pioneer, her comfort with self-publicity turning her into the face of what may be the future of news websites, she also nurses a lifelong love for therapies that she calls "natural" and others call something else. Fire walking, homeopathy, infrared saunas – Huffington has tried them all over the years, never struggling to balance what some might see as two contrary schools of thought in her head: the hard cutting edge of new media and the fluffy airy-fairiness of New Age.

In her private office – which is almost as glossy as she is, filled with plush armchairs and an intricately carved desk – books by Andrew Weil (an advocate for vitamin supplements who has written numerous books on self healing through breathing, "energy food" and "vibrational sound") sit happily alongside David Remnick's tub thumper tome, The Bridge: The Life and Rise of Barack Obama. On her desk, bottles of tinctures are placed in front of a photo of her with Queen Rania of Jordan and a handwritten note inviting her to brunch, signed Russell Simmons (whose book Super Rich: A Guide to Having it All is also on Huffington's bookcase, as though she needs any advice on that score.) Even though Christmas was two months ago, particular holiday cards linger on her window sill, including one from Joe Biden and another from a couple whose photo on the front is jarringly familiar: "Seasons greetings," it reads inside. "Tony, Cherie and family."

In short, it is all a testament to how much Huffington's eponymous website – on which features espousing holistic therapies run alongside political pieces about, say, John McCain or Egypt and columns by her celebrity friends, such as Nora Ephron – reflects the personality of its founder. But it's a personality that has puzzled some by its fluidity, "a mind as flexible as her body is unwieldy", as a 2008 profile of Huffington in the New Yorker magazine put it. Huffington has been, at various times, a self-help writer, a political pundit, an antagonist of feminists, a champion of women's causes, a follower of the Movement of Spiritual Inner Awareness, the champion of new media, a supporter of Newt Gingrich, a fan of President Obama, a Republican and a Democrat.
So let's get a look at this list of denialists:

Andrew Weil - the original acid head betrayer and NewAge quack doctor.

Barack Obama - brought to the public by Oprah Winfrey, the NewAge TV host.

Russell Simmons - Hip-Hop mogul turned self-help writing Buddhist.

Joe Biden - Joe Biden.

Cherie Blair - wife of Tony and NewAge loon.

Holistic therapies - AKA quackery.

Nora Ephron - a disgusting human being.
'Denialists' are those who reject the substantive technological benefits of modern science—medicines and vaccines to treat and prevent illnesses, or techniques to enhance the quality and quantity of agricultural yields. At the same time, they cling to an unsubstantiated faith in the advantages of 'natural' alternatives such as vitamins, supplements, and organic foods. The term encompasses a diverse array of quacks and crackpots, ranging from New Age celebrities like Andrew Weil to reactionary patricians like Charles, Prince of Wales. What unites them is a hostility to reason that, when amplified in society, threatens the ability of scientists to pursue real solutions to such problems as disease, hunger, and malnutrition."
And before anyone says, "Well, look, Arianna's so successful!" we'll remind you she's only successful because A) she divorced her husband and took his money, and B) the rest of you have so bought into the bogus concept of being "non-judgmental" that no one has seriously questioned what lies she's told and what harm she's committed.

To show you how pathetic it all is, the self-titled "Greek Goddess" is openly flaunting a belief system that was a laughing stock by the 80s and killed many people since - NewAge - but not one journalist has directly asked her "NewAge? Really? Astrology and homeopathy? Come on. Why should we take anything you say seriously?" Let a politician make a gaffe and he might lose his job, let Arianna Huffington make a series of them (while peddling NewAge quackery that's killed kids) and she gets a raise.

That's why she's successful. Mark our words:

Arianna Huffington's role in American life will eventually go down as a shame of the nation.

Sing Song, Ching Chong, Ding Dong - Damn! II

This dummy doesn't understand the difference between "the pursuit of happiness" and trying to hand it out - or, apparently, anything else:
It may sound like a bird-brained idea, but the mayor of Lancaster wants to brighten up the Mojave Desert city by broadcasting recorded bird songs.

R. Rex Parris proposed the idea during his State of the City talk on Monday.

The Antelope Valley Press says Parris wants to play the bird chatter from loudspeakers on Lancaster Boulevard. The mayor says there’s science to show that listening to birdsong makes people happier.

On other topics, the mayor says Lancaster must continue its drive to become a research capital for solar and alternative energy.

Parris is known for his flamboyant ideas. He got a law passed giving the city the right to castrate pit bulls, ordered city officials to learn Mandarin in a bid to woo Chinese business, and riled some people by saying he was growing Lancaster into a Christian community.
This guy is really for the birds! Get him outta here! What is wrong with California, people?

Oh yea - the California people.

Once A Crazy Cultist, Always A Crazy Cultist

Aww, isn't this cute:

Jane Fonda is blaming the shooting of Gabrielle Giffords on Sarah Palin, Glenn Beck, and the Tea Party movement.

Of course we now know none of these is to blame.

So let us point you to the words of Yuri Bezmenov, the KGB agent who, in the '60s, spent time with Fonda, The Beatles, and others at the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's ashram in India - where he says the participants were "contaminated" - before saying:
They are programmed to think and react to certain stimuli in a certain pattern. You can not change their mind even if you expose them to authentic information. Even if you prove that white is white and black is black, you still can not change the basic perception and the logic of behavior.
Truer words were never spoken. But wait - it get's better:

Here's Fonda wearing the clothing of the Lululemon cult, and of course, there's her famous unhinged NewAge ramble about "energy" and other nonsense at Eve Ensler's vagina conference, or whatever it was.

Isn't it funny how it's always the usual suspects with this stuff?

For What It's Worth (Which Ain't Much)

You've got to love when the obvious becomes undeniable:

According to The Daily Mail, scientists may have come up with a cure for malaria - isn't that great?

But wait - wasn't Homeopathy, originally, the supposed cure for malaria? Wasn't malaria, in fact, the very first disease Samuel Hahnemann (above) claimed to have used his now-famous water cure to defeat? If so, then, why is there a need for another? It's because, clearly, Homeopathy doesn't / can't / won't / is impossible to work. The only mystery is how the lie that water cures malaria - or anything else - ever lasted 200 years.

Of course, if you're paying attention, you already know that Homeopaths are using that lie to kill people - especially but not exclusively - in Africa, where they suspect authorities aren't paying close attention to what they're doing,...and, I might add, doing for money. (Or because they're racists. You can debate that one for yourselves,...)

World-wide Homeopathy is NewAge's equivalent to the nasty phrase "Big Pharma", except practitioners of this so-called "energy medicine" cure no one, and take lives instead of saving them. The latest incident making the news is from Japan, where doctors have kicked the bogus belief system to the curb after the death of a baby. (Children are especially vulnerable, because parents buy into the claim that Homeopathic preparations have "no side effects", without considering the treatment also contains no active ingredients. In other words, Homeopaths use a parent's obvious concern against them, to kill their kids.) We saw this same scenario play out, most famously, in the Thomas Sam case.

So what are Homeopath's going to say in light of this potential malaria cure? That Samuel Hahnemann was wrong? They can't say that because - since malaria was the very first specific ailment Homeopathy was designed to cure - it would prove the whole theory behind it - AKA "like cures like" - was (at best) a mistake or (at worst) a lie. Just like the entire NewAge outlook.

The truth is, as always, what the Homeopathic "community" is going to say about any challenge to their lies is,...nothing. Zip. Nada. They'll continue to ignore the obvious in favor of peddling their nonsense to NewAgers too gullible to think clearly because - let's face it - that's where the profits are.

And profits - not prophets - have always been what the scam of NewAge was about.

It's Now The NewAge E-Con-No-Me (For Me)

"New Age 'Asiatic' thought ... is establishing itself as the
hegemonic ideology of global capitalism."

--Slavoj Žižek

So I could really use those donations now:

Today I quit the job I've held for over a year - without another one lined up - because I just couldn't take it anymore.

It wasn't worth it.

Three 8:30AM sales meetings a week - Monday, Friday, and Saturday - whether you were working those days (or hours) or not, which were nothing more than motivational speaking pegged to The Secret ("This is the only job where your will comes into play,...") so it followed, if things didn't always go smoothly, it was because I (never those above me) didn't put enough into it.

And this business, in theory, had absolutely nothing to do with NewAge.

Yet I was forced to work with (and train) a woman who spouted off about "karma" and "energy" on a regular basis (mine was "negative" of course) and who handed out business cards for her other job as a massage therapist.

My employers haven't seemed to have a problem with that.

One recent customer told me she was leaving her husband and going to start a business in "energy healing". Luckily enough, she couldn't afford to buy anything, and I never saw her again.

But, during a casual sales call, one of my last customers informed me she was having her bad back treated by a homeopath, and asked me what I thought, forcing me to immediately get off the phone and give her account to someone else.

*Sigh*

I don't know what I'm going to do.

These people are in power now, they've wrecked the economy, and the job market, and there's absolutely no way for me to escape the culture.

I can't even get away from it at home. Not too long ago, one of my roommates asked if he could switch out the light bulbs in my room for those twisty things and I said, "No, I'm cool, I don't do the green thing." His reply? "Who brainwashed you?"

We got into an argument that resulted in him threatening to call the cops on me for yelling at him. (NewAgers are always threatening me with arrest for getting in the way of their plans - which is another subject that never gets any play out there: how vulnerable a black conservative's freedom can be, in 2010, if they don't go along,...)

I eat all my meals alone in my room, because both of my roommates are compelled to inform me of how unhealthy I am, eating a normal breakfast or dinner (non-organic, etc.) made with regular supermarket-bought products.

It's going to drive me crazy.

I'm just not cut out for this world - I should be out there challenging it.

Music is what I'm supposed to be doing - but with a somewhat more conservative message.

Think about it:

No liberal's going to back me in music now.

My life is fucked - by a god damn belief system.

But that is the point, isn't it?

Since I have to go out now (in the spirit of The Secret) and "attract" another one?
