Kyoto Was The First Plane,...

"Ian Plimer has outraged the ayatollahs of purist environmentalism, the Torquemadas of the doctrine of global warming, and he seems to relish the damnation they heap on him.

Plimer is a geologist, professor of mining geology at Adelaide University, and he may well be Australia's best-known and most notorious academic.

Plimer, you see, is an unremitting critic of 'anthropogenic global warming' -- man-made climate change to you and me -- and the current environmental orthodoxy that if we change our polluting ways, global warming can be reversed.

It is, of course, not new to have a highly qualified scientist saying that global warming is an entirely natural phenomenon with many precedents in history. Many have made the argument, too, that it is rubbish to contend human behaviour is causing the current climate change. And it has often been well argued that it is totally ridiculous to suppose that changes in human behaviour -- cleaning up our act through expensive slight-of-hand taxation tricks -- can reverse the trend.

Plimer presents the proposition that anthropogenic global warming is little more than a con trick on the public perpetrated by fundamentalist environmentalists and callously adopted by politicians and government officials who love nothing more than an issue that causes public anxiety.

While environmentalists for the most part draw their conclusions based on climate information gathered in the last few hundred years, geologists, Plimer says, have a time frame stretching back many thousands of millions of years.

The dynamic and changing character of the Earth's climate has always been known by geologists. These changes are cyclical and random, he says. They are not caused or significantly affected by human behaviour."

Another Really Bad Case Of Crystal Healing

"When someone removed thousands of frozen specimens from a cold-storage tank from a national laboratory in Menlo Park earlier this month, the vandalism left people puzzled: Who destroyed the protein samples by letting them melt, and why?

Now, federal authorities say they have answers: They're blaming a Palo Alto woman who had recently been fired from the lab and allegedly wrote mocking notes that made it seem like a man was responsible for the damage.

Silvya Oommachen, 32, who felt overworked and believed there was 'bad karma' between her and her supervisors, admitted to removing more than 4,000 crystal samples from cold storage at the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory, which is operated by Stanford University for the U.S. Department of Energy, authorities said.

Oommachen was charged Monday in U.S. District Court in San Francisco with willfully injuring and depredating U.S. property.

Authorities said she had caused an estimated $500,000 in damage.

Oommachen did not immediately return a call for comment today.

Oommachen stopped showing up for work June 17, FBI Special Agent Matthew Quick wrote in an affidavit. The lab fired her after officials repeatedly tried to contact her, without success.

From July 17 to 20, someone removed 42 cassettes, each containing 96 crystal samples, from three cryogenic containers and placed them on a lab table. The tops of each of the containers had Post-it notes on which was written, 'Performed by X Black,' a reference to a sex act and the date of July 18, the affidavit said.

'A hand-drawn smiley face was also on each of the Post-it notes,' Quick wrote."

Oommachen admitted to destroying the samples, believing that doing so would 'reverse some of the bad karma she was experiencing,'....

Stop Playing Charades And Rush To The Answer

Look, I've been reluctant to get involved in this - I think I've run one post on the subject and I can't even find it: And, yea, I'm still looking - and everybody knows I like Rush even though he was a main offender in the Zicam scandal (something I think he should've known better than to be involved in) but the reason I still like Rush is because of clear-headed observations like this:

Show the "Birthers" Obama's certificate!!!

It's been over a year since this started and all we hear about is reports of his birth from newspapers - which can be faked - jokes from The Daily Show, and anything else the so-called "smart" folks think can replace that one piece of paper every American citizen possesses. How all the people accusing "Birthers" of a conspiracy theory can continually miss this simple fact - even 6 months after the guy's been elected - is a wonder. But, hell, this is happening in the same country that lets anything labeled "Homeopathic" be sold without checking it - and where even big shot politicians believe in the crap, and are working - with our money - to make that situation worse, as well.

Obviously somebody's missing something - like a few sandwiches at the picnic.

Sincerely, this is not my issue, but, it seems to me, the way to a resolution is clear and simple - in plain language:

Put-up or shut-up.

UPDATE: The National Review says they've seen Barack Obama's birth certificate at Factcheck.org - which I don't doubt, though they don't provide a link or a photo (I'll get there: busy day) - which all cuts back to the main issue:

Parading it before the American people.

Why is that so friggin' hard to do? And BTW, this should be a wake-up call to President Obama, the Democrats, and the media, about how trusted they are out there - they ain't - and more and more people are starting to make that fact very, very clear,...if you ask me, the "craziest" folks are the people who are ignoring that message.

One Parade Route That Was Never In Doubt

"Many of you have blind faith in your invisible sky fairy, which science proves does not exist, so why can you not have faith in Obama (who is real) and all the things that smart people believe in? You don’t need to understand how increased spending will help a country in debt or how increased taxes on energy will help a failing economy, you only need to know that Obama is much, much smarter than you. So obviously his solutions will work much better than anything you troglodytes would think he should do. If you could just have blind faith in Obama’s brilliance, you wouldn’t have to worry anymore.

To help you with that, Obama has started having 'Look How Smart I Am' parades through various cities so everyone can see how smart he is. If you are smart, then Obama should appear very smart to you. It seems like a good idea, but the last one was marred when some kid yelled out, 'The emperor has no brain!' and started laughing at the bucket stuck on Obama’s head.  As I’ve explained before, Obama isn’t an emperor — yet — and the reason he had a bucket stuck on his head is that he was quite curious whether his head could fit inside it. Smart people get curious about many different things. If you were smart, you’d recognize that a bucket stuck on his head is in fact a symbol of his genius. And you’d stop laughing at him.

Why do I even try to explain these things to you idiots! How about this: If Obama is as dumb and inexperienced as you think he is, then how did he get elected president? Ha! Explain that one, dummy!"

"The owner of a Salt Lake City massage parlor and an employee have been sentenced to one-year jail terms for sex-related crimes committed at the business.

Travon J. Jackson, 29, owner of The Reiki Specialist, 231 E. 400 South, had sex with a 17-year-old girl in February 2008, and he also hired two other 17-year-olds who performed sex acts for customers and split their earnings with Jackson, according to charging documents.

Jackson pleaded guilty to one count each of attempted aggravated exploitation of prostitution and unlawful sexual conduct with a 16- or 17-year-old, both third-degree felonies.

Third District Judge Deno Himonas sentenced Jackson earlier this month to a year in the Salt Lake County jail.

David Anthony Burgess, 28, who worked at the massage parlor, was charged with two counts of first-degree felony rape, alleging he sexually assaulted two women during job interviews in September.

Burgess pleaded guilty to two counts of class A misdemeanor sexual battery and was sentenced to a year in jail by Judge Randall Skanchy.

Reiki is a holistic relaxation treatment similar to massage. It often is performed meditatively, without physical contact between the practitioner and the client.

A Web site for The Reiki Specialist advertised 'Sensual Reiki,' with physical touch and bikini-clad practitioners to 'increase the relaxation and stress relief.'"

Nancy Pelosi has gone and uttered the three words I've always said I hate the most, "I don’t care." Why are those three little words so friggin' lethal? Because if she don't care, then nobody else has to, either!! Nancy Pelosi got physically attacked today? "I don’t care." Nancy Pelosi got unfairly criticized? "I don’t care." And so on. Once someone decides to go down that road, it is so "ON" that all I can say in return is:

"You better start watching your back, Girl."

Also, I've always said liberals (and NewAgers) never apologize, especially when they're proven wrong - which is a lot - and Andrew Breitbart has noticed the same thing, involving a case I cared passionately about:

Voices? Schizophrenia? Naw, You're Psychic!!!

This schizophrenia 'prodrome' — the early signs — involves a troubled mental state usually found in teens and young adults. It can lead to psychosis, the loss of touch with reality that marks not only schizophrenia, but also some forms of depression or manic-depression. The prodrome can linger for weeks, or years, before it gives way to psychosis — or mysteriously disappears without a trace."

"In what police describe as one of the most gruesome crimes against a child in recent memory, an infant boy was stabbed, decapitated and mutilated early Sunday.

His 33-year-old mother claimed responsibility, police said.

Otty Sanchez told police that she was 'hearing voices' and that the devil made her kill Scott Wesley Buchholtz Sanchez, to whom she gave birth on June 30, San Antonio police spokesman Joe Rios said.

Sanchez used a steak knife to repeatedly stab the nearly 4-week-old baby, then decapitate and mutilate him, Rios said. A police source said the baby was skinned and gutted.

Sanchez then used the knife to stab herself in the chest and abdomen, police said.

Sanchez was detained and taken to University Hospital, where she remained in stable condition Sunday night. She was charged by proxy late Sunday with capital murder, which is punishable by the death penalty. Bond was set at $1 million.

The brutal crime unfolded in a single-story home in the 300 block of Wayside Drive, where police were called just before 5 a.m. According to police, Sanchez lives in the North Side home with her sister and the sister's two children, and Sanchez's mother stays in a small, separate structure behind the house.

Neighbor Elaine Colchin said that just months ago, she was cleaning out her garage when Sanchez's mother stopped by and asked for a discarded baby bed.

'I gave it to her, and she was so happy, she was going to paint it for her new grandson,' Colchin said. 'It was a family bed — my daughter, son and husband all used it; now it turned out to be a nightmare.'

It was Sanchez's mother who called police Sunday. She told them she was awakened by Sanchez around 4:30 a.m. She said she saw her daughter sitting with the boy. He had been decapitated, a police report said. Sanchez's mother took the baby, put him on a bed and called police, according to the report.

When police arrived, Sanchez was sitting on a couch, yelling, 'I killed my baby. I want to die,' the report said.

An officer found the child's body lying in blood on a bed next to the knife, believed to be the weapon used in the killing, and two swords, which Rios said were not involved in the death. Authorities were seen carrying two bags out of the home, and officials on the scene confirmed that they contained the baby's remains.

The baby was missing body parts, and police were investigating claims the mother made to them about ingesting those parts, sources said.

Colchin was surprised to hear that Sanchez, who brought her baby across the street for a visit last week, is a suspect in the infant's death, though she admits Sanchez sometimes appeared a bit odd.

'She was never aggressive; always sweet,' Colchin said. 'She did seem to be living in a world of her own, but she must have been deranged. I feel so sorry for that baby, the little angel.'"
