I'm Glad I'm So Poor (I Can't Afford High-Priced Insanity)

Knowing Adolf Hitler was a NewAge, vegetarian, occult-worshipping type, I can't grasp how - after years of kindergarten, elementary, jr. and senior high, and maybe even a college education - The Hitler Youth still grow into adulthood, hearing their master's call:

Yep,...

  1. Oh...don't remind me...
It's been 5 years since I've been to a doctor and this cough won't go away (flu went through house 3 weeks ago and the cough settled in my lungs) -- so instead of getting treated for my cough?
Yeah, they did a full work up on me; told me I needed to go through the local hospital's weight loss program (apparently I'm supposed to weigh what I did at 25, gee thanks) and I need to stop smoking! so I have to attend the local hospital's stop smoking program as well, or I could risk my husband's insurance (which is now adding "incentives" for "healthy" policy owners, which means if you're not "healthy" they can make the insurance too expensive for you).
But they did marvel at my blood pressure, heart rate, and lung capacity -- which are apparently as good as many "healthy" 20 somethings even though, you know, I'm an old, fat broad who smokes (hence the full blood work up, because they just know something has to be wrong with me -- besides this cough).

Which I never did get anything for; apparently it will magically go away once I become "healthy". (and I still haven't seen the copay, because I got the infamous words "oh, we'll bill you"; swear to God, if my lungs weren't threatening to flop out on the ground I would have just walked out...but I thought: if they see me they'll have to address this cough, right?)

FML, there's a reason why I avoid the doctor.
