Obnoxilicious II: It's Working Against Ourselves

Mediaite (how do you pronounce that?) has a post that ties in with my own about the Rebecca Black phenomena and how the internet warps the music business. Word is she's been signed to a label - for what was being debated, just two weeks ago, as the worst song in America - giving credence to my "obnoxilicious" theory:

If something of value is online, it loses 80% of it's worth - because everyone will want it for free - but worthless crap gains in value, mainly because curiosity seekers will pay to see and/or hear it.

Of course there are exceptions, but I think it's a truism, and would like to hear what you think.

Another thought:

A 13 year-old girl, with an awful record, has been made into a millionaire almost overnight. Unworthy politicians like Obama - who, I'll remind you, also famously raised money online - can put together considerable war chests in the same amount of time. Can you imagine what could be done if that kind of money was going to something or someone worthwhile?

I say you can't because A) otherwise you'd be doing it B) it's expected that good things must rise on their own, and C) you're all too damned cynical.

Don't Tell Me FOX News Ain't "Fair & Balanced"!

And go home, Newt - to whoever you've got there, now, as your "wife" - and quit inflicting yourself on the rest of us. You're done.

Learn To Get Right, Guys: Love Is "Not Enough"

If you think loving a woman is what it takes to keep one, think again. There's tons of little boys, right now, getting their hearts totally destroyed because some adolescent bitch developed a crush on Justin Bieber and ain't afraid to show it, no matter how much the dude right in front of them cares - and it just gets worse as they get older. Women are as ruthless as killers and it's only because guys have become as soft as hardboiled eggs that they get away with it. Women care about no one, and nothing, but what they want and the wreckage they leave behind is just that to them - wreckage. They can "move on" (and probably donate to that disgusting political astrology outfit, "MoveOn.org" too). Women don't give a shit about love, and by now everybody knows it, so, Guys, don't indulge that nonsense.

And I don't want no stupid women writing in, trying to tell me I'm wrong about them, because, if I was, your ass would've already written this post - for the good of humanity - and not had me do it. But women don't give a shit about humanity either. Women care about one thing and one thing only - themselves.

Fuck all y'all.

And yeah, yeah - I know - but you should be reading a science blog if you're going to stupidly nit-pick for specificity. I'm using colloquial language and I don't want to hear it:

Women today suck.

UPDATE: My sister Marva's reminder of when women, and music, had integrity:

This Is Exactly What's Wrong With America Now

About two weeks ago, there was a story in the news about a woman who was blocking a parking spot from a guy, so he got out and clocked her ass and now she's in a coma. He didn't mean to put her in a coma, but (as guys will) he reacted to someone doing something unfair, and now everyone wants to treat him like he's the bad guy. That was wrong - a total perversion of justice.

Now, here comes a video of two disgustingly racist cows, dominating a New York City subway train. Notice how fast one threatens to bust a guy in the mouth? That guy could put her in a coma, but everyone knows she's protected by unfair laws that allow her to act the fool, with no consequence. So what is the man forced to do? Nothing, because the law would come down on him like a hammer if he did - when that bitch deserves a beat down, and even needs one, so she'll learn respect for others. (He's still a punk for letting her do it - neither I, or any of my buddies would, and women know it.) Notice how another man, an even more defiant one, sounds like he had his nads removed? (What is up with that in men today?) Notice how the words "I don't care" are seen as a license to do anything? Notice how you want to throw up when one of the "women" screams "Eat my fucking pussy"?

This is a perfect example of the bullshit dynamic that feminism has created in America and it's time for such bullshit to end. Change the laws, or put 'em all in comas if we have to but, like the idea of America allowing itself to be dominated by a much smaller and wrong-headed country - or call it the "Casey The Punisher" dynamic - the idea that men should have to restrain themselves, to put up with crap from women, is over.

Everybody thinks they can kick our ass now, and that's a baldfaced lie.

Falling For The Ol' "Spiritual Enlightenment And Personal Growth" Trick, eh? (Well, Let It Begin!)

I keep trying to tell you there's a clear connection between the American "progressive" contingent's love for NewAge spirituality, gullibility, and lying, with the economic mess we're in - the connection being the idiotic acceptance of one has led to the other - but, now that Madonna's African school deal is falling apart, maybe you guys can finally figure it out for yourselves - or maybe not:
Courtenay Geddes, a wealthy heiress from Pasadena, California, has sued the Kabbalah Centre of Los Angeles and all of its entities alleging a major swindle. Geddes’s suit — for $20 million– was filed in Los Angeles Superior Court in February 2011. The news of the lawsuit comes on top of headlines concerning Kabbalah’s Raising Malawi charity reneging on a promise to build a girls academy in Malawi with pop star Madonna. As I reported exclusively yesterday, the Kabbalah Centre and Madonna have now hired a top spin doctor, Mark Fabiani, to protect the image of the singer and the organization.

Geddes didn’t name Madonna as a defendant in her suit, but she named everyone else from the Berg family to John Larkin of Larkin Business Management. Larkin is the accountant for Kabbalah. (His firm was sued in 2009 by the Black Eyed Peas for failing to file a decade’s worth of tax returns.)

In her suit, Geddes claims that in 2007, two years after she joined the Los Angeles chapter of Kabbalah, she proposed several ideas to the Bergs and to Larkin about educational projects for their subsidiary, Spirituality for Kids–now known as Success for Kids.

Geddes, whose grandfather was a German American billionaire whose considerable trust she inherited, says the Bergs and Larkin loved her ideas. She wound up investing around $500,00 in the effort. At the same time, she also became involved, she says, through other Kabbalah Center members, Donald and Orly May. She invested $800,000 with them in a real estate scheme. She’s now also suing them as well, separately. Geddes is suing the Centre, the Bergs, Larkin, and other defendants for $700,000 that she laid out, plus damages.

In her lawsuit, Geddes alleges the following: “Geddes, while looking for spiritual enlightenment and personal growth and improvement, was manipulated by Kabbalah Center and the other defendants who advantage of her sincere, trusting nature to deprive her of her monies…Kabbalah Centre has a historical pattern and practice of defrauding people by soliciting monies for various projects that never come to fruition. Geddes is but one of numerous people who have been taken advantage of the by Defendants by leveraging their position in the community as spiritual guides.”
All that money, thrown down the toilet, and for what? And don't think Madonna isn't going to be dragged into it - she will. The Material Girl mocked the anti-cult crowd when we tried to warn her (see photo) but now it's all unravelling and, like all the others, no one gets away once that happens:

It's just a matter of time.

If You're Searching For Truth You Might Find It!

Oh boy - I haven't been covering it much lately, but it doesn't look like Los Angeles' NXIVM cult trial, featuring Clare Bronfman (of the Seagram's fortune) is going well. You can click the link and read Clare's latest confused testimony, but here's a brief summary of what "enlightenment" NXIVM's guru, Vanguard (Keith Raniere) has apparently brought to her life:

Spirituality - you gotta love it!

Spiritual Warfare: Everybody's Feeling Mahdi Big

Oh goodie - the End Times Christians are watching the End Times Islamists, and guess what? The End Times are coming!:
New evidence has emerged that the Iranian government sees the current unrest in the Middle East as a signal that the Mahdi--or Islamic messiah--is about to appear.

CBN News has obtained a never-before-seen video produced by the Iranian regime that says all the signs are moving into place -- and that Iran will soon help usher in the end times.

While the revolutionary movements gripping the Middle East have created uncertainty throughout the region, the video shows that the Iranian regime believes the chaos is divine proof that their ultimate victory is at hand.
As Elvis Costello said in the song Waiting For The End Of The World, "Dear Lord, I sincerely hope you're comin' 'cause ya done really started something!"

Otopsi

While discussing art and music with a couple of readers, and collecting examples for them to critique, it occurred to me I haven't done a good art post in a while.

But then it also occurred to me that many people hadn't seen the ones I'd already done, so here are links to a bunch of them, so the rest of you can not only see and hear some good stuff but (if you're at work) happily kill some time as well.

There's no rhyme or reason to the choices, or how they're laid out here - I was actually pretty depressed when I did them and was trying to pull myself out of the funk - but I like all the selections a lot.

Many of these songs bring back fond memories of better times.

Honesty's More Than A Defense: Reality Is Truth

So this is today's viral video - Pakistani actress Veena Malik, bravely defending the truth before a questioning cleric, by exposing what hides under the rock we know as Islam. It's truly awe-inspiring because, as we know, these are the kind of words that can get her killed and, like everyone else, I wish her the best and hope, by posting this segment, it can play some small part in giving her cover to speak and live freely.

This is James Frey's "A Million Little Pieces" publisher Nan Talese. Like Veena Malik, she was bravely defending the truth, but before a questioning audience member, and by exposing what hides under the rock we know as The Oprah Winfrey Show.

Veena Malik's made a nice living - without saying a single word against the belief system she knows hides despicable practices.

Nan Talese was once glad to have Oprah Winfrey advertise her books.

But do you think, if they weren't attacked publicly, that either of these women would ever have spoken out about what they know?

My heart goes out to both of them but, I'd be negligent if I did not say, they're also evidence of a staggering lack of integrity.

And, unfortunately, they are more common in this regard than not.
