Going "Ghost" is only now wrongly being touted online as some new slang, when Rappers have been working that shit since at least the early 90s. 

How out of it can these people be? Ann Althouse is wrongly spreading Slate's bullshit that it's origin has something to do with the French and Irish (Because we all know how prolific they currently are when it comes to inventing popular contemporary American slang terms, right?) She might as well start telling us it was the Chinese who first said "Yeah, Boyeee!"
