Um, I see a Republican opening here - listen to Jay-Z, addressing critics of his Cuba trip:
"Hear the freedom in my speech ... Obama said, 'Chill, you gonna get me impeached. You don't need this ... anyway, chill with me on the beach,'" he adds, tucking in at the end, "I’m in Cuba, I love Cubans. This communist talk is so confusing."
Now check that out. He's exposing Obama's behind-the-scenes political cowardice - Jay's a Rapper - he don't care. That's deep shit, right there (He knows Obama personally and he still ain't impressed by the first black president? Sheeeiiit).
But, more importantly, if the man thinks "communist talk is so confusing" then shouldn't somebody step in and maybe, like, explain a few things TO THE NUMBER ONE RAPPER IN THE WORLD?
That would be another one of my "crazy" political ideas, trying to win one for the good guys.
Just doing my part.
Win one for the good guys.
And please, please, please, PLEASE, don't get Marco Rubio,...
I suppose in order to further the dialogue someone should ask Mr. JayZ just what exactly he considers "communist talk" and why he finds it so confusing. (no, it probably shouldn't be Marco Rubio)
ReplyDeleteBut might get the same response as you question to Phil Plait -- if not from the man himself, then most definitely from the media and the crowds surrounding JayZ (because we certainly can't have THAT happening).
So any attempt at furthering the dialogue would likely be a bust -- from which one could only hope that there was free beer provided and that it was of the good sort.
This is, unfortunately, not so confusing -- whether it is rational or good is another matter.

Do you think maybe JayZ was also just doing his thing, that is: making a rhyme. After all, the number one rapper in the world might say:
ReplyDelete"I’m in Cuba, I love Cubans.
This communist talk is
so confusin."
He does look like PJ from that angle!
ReplyDeleteW. fletcher,
ReplyDeleteNah, Jay-Z's a confessional Rapper (think John Lennon) and his words are a road map to his thoughts - his book is called "Code" because of the meaning he imbues his work with, revealing a pretty smart fella underneath. Sure, he also makes booty shakers, etc. but this one sounds personal:
He's naming names,...
That's why you'd probably get a more straightforward answer from JayZ than from Phil Plait -- but the trick would be finding a way to get the question to him...and thus the info.
ReplyDeleteBecause I have a feeling JayZ and people like him are the last people in this world that the entitled/protected set would like talking about these sorts of things.
