"I've Already Heard Some Of That And I Don't Care,..."

Almost enough to make me wish whites can go back to "blacks are stupid" and stop emulating us:
"'All we want to do is celebrate white identity'
- White Student Union forms at Georgia State University"
They do realize everybody's being stupid, right?

I Gotta Bee

Dale Carnegie.

With my back, I should recognize I'm an asshole, try to be nicer - not pass judgement:

Now, consider there's a counter-argument,...

It Seems Like It's Reigning All Over The World

I've got a lot of reasons for not buying climate change, few of which deal with science:
"Rajendra Pachauri, the chairman of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), is the author of a novel, Return to Almora. In 2010, it was published to great fanfare. One of the world’s largest banks – HSBC – was an official sponsor of the gala book launch in Mumbai.
Later that year, Pachauri downplayed media reports that his book is a racy read. 'I’m happy to send you a copy if you have the patience to go through it,' he told a reporter, 'but it’s 400 pages all about spirituality.'
This journalist has now read those 400 pages. It turns out there’s a considerable gap between what the author says his book is about and the evidence on the printed page."

You know where this is going, don't you? C'mon, truth seeker, it's TMR

There Was Absolutely Positively No Way To Hide Crazy

But now it's easier to blame Chris Christie than deal with what was the reality on the ground.

Oh well, I try to look at the bright side:

No matter how weird it gets, nobody's freaking out yet,...

The Snot-Nosed Kid Forgets Tea (To Talk Like A Man)

Ha! Yesterday Chris Christie said Rand Paul & Co. seemed to want to make Republican politics personal - and then Paul let loose with that lame "Bacon King" jab that hit himself in the chin - so what's Pauly saying today?
“With Gov. Christie it’s gotten a little too personal, so we’re ready to kiss and makeup,..."
Considering everything - beer or no beer - that's a very interesting choice of words,...

Putin's A Sorry Rep (For Doing The Right Thing) But,...

If we did this, here, crime would drop to unseen levels:
"Moscow police have once again entered the dark realms of the paranormal, busting a Russian "psychic" ring that has been lifting curses for money — or, as the police claim, simply scaring clients into thinking they were jinxed.
The alleged psychics ran a parapsychology center called Sapphira, complete with a call center, the city police website said Tuesday.
The psychics also promoted their company through shows on cable television such as Komsomolskaya Pravda TV. Sapphira staff convinced callers they were cursed and claimed to be performing "magical" rituals during their phone conversations. The staff convinced their potential clients they needed supernatural help, which the center then provided for payment, the report said.
The police did not disclose the group's price list for lifting curses, but said it seized 4 million rubles ($120,000) and a list of clients during raids at Sapphira's office and the homes of its staff. Six alleged psychics now face up to 10 years in prison on fraud charges, the report said."
Fraud? Psychics? Prison? Wow - whoda thunk it,...

(Cult) Context

On the micro level, it looks like Scientology killed someone else.

On the macro level, it looks like Mickey Kaus noticed something about the president:
"Obama isn’t vague or incoherent. He’s quite precise about where he wants to go–namely back to something like what we had three decades ago. If his means don’t come close to matching his ends, if they even subvert them, that seems a more troubling, almost pathological mismatch, in which liberalism becomes a sort of cargo cult whose mechanisms have zero hope of achieving the desired results."
And here in the middle, everybody shrugs because they're listening to smart people,...

The Cock-A-Doodle-Doo

The old NewAge saying - sitting in shit, screaming it's a pot of gold - has a French counterpart:
"The French national emblem, the Gallic cock, is the only bird who crows on a pile of dung."
I'll say - 40% of the population can't see through homeopathy and they're socialist:

A historical crime, of stupidity, making such perfect sense it's practically shaping up as a scheme,...

Qu'avez-vous Dit?

To show you how "special" (AKA stupid) the French are, I haven't been back in years, but I was already aware they needed something like this - badly:
"The French are extremely guarded when it comes to muddling up their language with too many foreign words and phrases, so when they could find no equivalent for 'binge drinking,' they simply came up with one: 'beuverie express.' Quite literally, the new term translates to 'fast drinking.'"
It sure beats "You vomit on me and I'll bust you in your mouth, asshole!"

They never did appreciate that from an American,...

Enlightenment's Never-Ending Path (Leads To Madness)

If you've seen as many doofus' as I have, filling their minds with "spirits" and "soul mates," Eastern and "alternative" bullshit, declaring "Everything happens for a reason," or trying to validate some nonsense from The Secret, then this isn't news at all:
"Living in America will drive you insane — literally."
Keep in mind - that would be functionally insane - but still crazy, none-the-less,...

I've Told You And Told You: NewAge = Non-Judgmental

Mary Hip-Hoppins

This mash-up immediately reminded me of the days before Rap, when I used to hope - desperately - that someone would come along and rescue me from the lame grooves of the larger culture. Back then, when it seemed like the only white person who had a clue about rhythm was Led Zeppelin's drummer, (and almost every entertainment that featured white people screamed, "BOR-ING!") I felt like I was drowning. But, of course, looking back on it, I now know that wasn't even close to true - the larger culture was spurring Hip-Hop into existence all along. And now here we are:

With A Sickness

Spent the night coping with these new painkillers - a lot of fun when you feel kinda like you've got a broken neck (queasiness/cramps/shit/vomit/shit/being grateful I don't have to immediately vomit again/repeat until the dry heaves are a blessing). Today I'm breaking the pills up, trying to make a dosage I can handle a little more comfortably. In other words:

"Trying to find a balance."

I'll write when I can reliably eat/hold down food,...

"I'm Going To Have To Respectfully Decline, Thank You"

Cruzin' 4 A Bruzin' (Or If U Gonna Be A RINO Be Angry)

The Divine Mr. Cruz, siding with Rand Paul against Chris Christie, is interesting. Marco Rubio, now the weasel of the group, will surely join them. It's almost a former-tweener generational thing - everyone's born between 1960 and 1970 - and Rand has what little real charisma The Three Little Brothers possess. Scott Walker doesn't look stupid (so far) so I wouldn't think he'd want to be associated with Ron's snot-nosed kid:

“If he cared about protecting this country, maybe he wouldn’t be in this, “Gimme, gimme, gimme, gimme all the money you have in Washington, or don’t have,’ and he’d be a little more fiscally responsive and know that the way we defend our country, the way we have enough money for national defense, is by being frugal and not by saying, ‘Gimme, gimme, gimme’ all the time.”

I can tell you, after decades of playing the dozens, that didn't look good from the cheap seats. And Christie easily deflected it, with Hot Air (I think wrongly) calling Christie "an 'angry RINO' charging at rivals on the right" when Christie's only crime, as far as I can tell - and always as a Republican - was merely to care for the people of his state in a disaster.

There's a remote chance Scott Walker would see the wisdom in that approach to leadership:
“I find it interesting that Sen. Paul is accusing us of having a ‘gimme, gimme, gimme’ attitude towards federal spending when in fact New Jersey is a donor state and we get 61 cents back on every dollar we send to Washington,” Christie said. “And interestingly, Kentucky gets $1.51...”

The Right, now, doesn't realize how culturally right they've swung under Obama - just as the Left didn't realize it under Bush. Their courting of the hispanic vote has been ugly, cynical, grasping, and futile, verging on unAmerican.

They've forgotten how to win votes.

They've forgotten why they're there at all.

Doesn't anybody just want to run on being an American anymore?

I mean, I don't know about you but, considering what's coming
if a Christie/Walker/Center/Right ticket is shaping up, I'm welcoming it,...

This Is How They Get You

I went to the doctor's this morning.

I was still amazed there's only chairs in the waiting room of a back clinic.

We looked at my MRI scans (an amazing invention) and found the bulges, one at the base of my neck, one near the base of my spine. The folks who scanned me concurred.

Now what?

Some physical therapy (for an undetermined amount of time), steroids (cortizone) in the neck, more anti-inflammatories for the immediate pain, and maybe something else later.

And oh - nice touch - I'll have to see another specialist to determine if I qualify as disabled.

Great - meanwhile, I'm broke.

In just over a month, an ulcer and two back problems have reduced me from what looked like a financially secure future to mired in debt, and wondering how I'm going to care for myself.

I haven't been working.

I can't work now.

I have to hang my head and look up at the world, kind of like this (but without the scowl) just to get around with some kind of relief.

I've got a bipolar friend who's kind of moved in, cooks meals, hangs out, etc., but when it comes to bright spots, that's about it.

Meanwhile, there's chiropractors everywhere,...

Vets Take Major Territory (In The War Against Animals)

Considering the way people feel about their pets, somebody should've stepped in ages ago:
Vets say homeopathy isn't even good enough for the dog
2013-07-30 July 30, 2013, Press Dispensary. As Prince Charles has become embroiled in another row about the use of homeopathy in the NHS, British veterinary surgeons have denounced its use for the treatment of pets and other animals.

In a survey of 460 veterinary surgeons, the preliminary results of which are announced today, an overwhelming 83% said that there are no medical conditions for which homeopathy could be an effective treatment in animals. This figure included the 6.3% of participants who practice veterinary homeopathy themselves, without whom the figure would be even higher.”

So, the magic water doesn't work on humans, and it doesn't work on animals:

I guess, if they're going to keep studying it's effects, plant life is all that's left,...

Wow. Oh wow. O.K.:
“Mother discovers daughter's maths teacher, 35, hiding under the schoolgirl's bed when she went home early”
I'm struck by the expectation of how this is supposed to work:

We're not supposed to stop anything, but look at "nice" images so we don't think about it.

 For the rest of time.

It's no wonder so many are losing their minds,...
