I Warned Her (Apparently It Works On Mormons As Well)

Uh-oh, it looks like Ann Althouse hasn't been helping her sisters after all:
Congressional candidate “Jane Smith dressed in a brown blouse, black skirt and modest pumps with a short heel…” Even such a neutral description of a female candidate’s appearance can hurt her chances at getting elected, according to a study released today by Name It. Change It., a joint project of The Women’s Media Center and She Should Run.
Although it seems obvious that an unflattering portrait painted by reporters would negatively impact a candidate’s image with voters, what’s surprising is that even positive, or neutral, descriptions of a female candidate’s appearance proved detrimental in damaging key attributes and the likelihood that people would vote for her.

Hell, Ann can't even stop herself from commenting on what basketball players wear. But for women? Oh man, she goes off - even inviting her girlfriends in on the self-sabotage:
"Robin Givhan Revives Rumors of an Ambassador Anna Wintour."
Well, now we know why that didn't happen - thanks, Ann and Robin!!!!

  1. No, Jesus never pointed out anyone's failings - except for the money changers - he did quite a job on them.

Say, what do you do, over there at Meadehouse, again?

  2. I make donations to blogs.

"he did quite a job on them."

He was apparently perfecting his macho response.

  3. Considering the way you guys and Reynolds operate, I think you should use the term "bribes" to describe what you donate.

    You want it back?

    And just for clarity:

I've got a lot of friends. I don't agree with any of them about much. But they're not cowards about our disagreements. We're not the "agree to disagree" crowd - there's a wrong and a right and use each other to determine what's what. WE OPENLY ADMIT WHEN WE'RE WRONG.

You say I've been pointing out your "failings."

Then be a man and apologize.

    I don't know what's so difficult.

I got a call to go for a beer - gotta go:

I'll check on you when I get back.
