Hooray!: "James Randi - An Honest Liar" Is Now Online For Everybody To Watch

If America, and it's people, were who we say we are, this man - and his work - would be much more famous. As it is, he's known just well enough to be my hero.

Trump Didn't Take Us Down A Road Of UnReason (We're Already "On The Path")

It's bad when I can read a paranormal headline like this, and know it's not a joke:
But it's absolutely horrible - when I don't even know what election they're talking about - because that stupid reference could be about so many women in politics.

Putin's A Sorry Rep (For Doing The Right Thing) But,...

If we did this, here, crime would drop to unseen levels:
"Moscow police have once again entered the dark realms of the paranormal, busting a Russian "psychic" ring that has been lifting curses for money — or, as the police claim, simply scaring clients into thinking they were jinxed.
The alleged psychics ran a parapsychology center called Sapphira, complete with a call center, the city police website said Tuesday.
The psychics also promoted their company through shows on cable television such as Komsomolskaya Pravda TV. Sapphira staff convinced callers they were cursed and claimed to be performing "magical" rituals during their phone conversations. The staff convinced their potential clients they needed supernatural help, which the center then provided for payment, the report said.
The police did not disclose the group's price list for lifting curses, but said it seized 4 million rubles ($120,000) and a list of clients during raids at Sapphira's office and the homes of its staff. Six alleged psychics now face up to 10 years in prison on fraud charges, the report said."
Fraud? Psychics? Prison? Wow - whoda thunk it,...

Joseph Smith Wouldn't Have Done Too Well Online,...

Making a profit on the occult arts? Cultivating a loyal customer base for potions, magic spells and psychic readings? Not on EBay, you’re not.
In its 2012 Fall Seller Update, the online marketplace said it was banning all sales of supernatural goods and services, exiling its witchy and wizardly clientele to the wilds of Craigslist and other Web-based Diagon Alleys.
Among the prohibited items: “advice; spells; curses; hexing; conjuring; magic services; prayers; blessings; Psychic, Tarot, Reiki, and other metaphysical readings & services; magic potions; healing sessions.”
Man, do I understand that. (Why no one else does, is anybody's guess,…)

Now, if only this momentum could be directed to the White House,…

Whatever You're Looking For: We've Got It Here!

Just so you know - these are but a few of the search terms that brought people to TMR's door today:
niggers can't swim

blow job in sign language

dog spaz

hitler control

Humans having powers

sarah palin underwear

funny racist pictures
And four referrals for the Ku Klux Klan.

Blogging: it can be one lonely, depressing endeavor.

Though - we've got to admit - "Hitler Control" and "Humans Having Powers" would make great band names!

We've Got Another Movie: Gawd Bless America

$100,000 is hardly chump change. But 70-year-old Leroy Tessina, a former delivery man, estimates that's the amount of money he's spent on psychics, UFO paraphernalia and other paranormal pursuits over the past few decades. He nearly lost his house in the process.

Among his purchases: several trips to UFO-friendly Roswell, N.M., countless books on extraterrestrials, nearly a decade's worth of sessions with a personal psychic and even a special helmet that supposedly prevents aliens from reading his mind.

But Tessina, a Los Angeles man, said he's a believer no more.
After a mind-bending, life-changing journey with independent filmmaker Blake Freeman, Tessina said he's "reformed" and won't pay peddlers of the paranormal any longer.

"I was into sci-fi as a child and young man and I guess it just evolved from that. I let it rule my life," he said. "Blake told me, 'You screwed up for a while, but now let's go see if we can straighten you out.'

"He showed me the error of my ways, so to speak."

In 2008, the thirtysomething Freeman and the then-sixtysomething Tessina went off on a cross-country adventure to interview so-called experts on alien abductions, ghost hunting, crop circles, psychic healing and more, all in an effort to expose the truth behind their wild, other-worldly claims.
The result is "Gawd Bless America," a documentary opening in theaters March 4, that blends "Borat"-like antics with "Religulous"-like irreverence to reach, Freeman said, something "real."

-- Ki Mae Heussner - on what looks like a hilarious NewAge "spirituality" debunking documentary "Gawd Bless America" - for ABC News.

Where was this Blake guy when I was married?

With All The Love A Great Religion Can Muster

Here's some food for thought for all the religious letter writers of the world, determined to hold back the inevitable, and/or (at least in their own lives) maintain the charade of "belief" for as long as humanly possible:
As someone who has an interest in human history, it seems fairly clear to me that we are naturally moving away from the silly and childish superstitions of our past.

We no longer believe in leprechauns, dragons, unicorns, centaurs and a whole host of imaginary creatures that our ancestors took fairly seriously. Even those who still believe in the existence of gods believe in gods who are far less active that those of the past.

Not so long ago in history, we believed gods were responsible for what we would now consider mundane things such as lightning, the tides and the sun crossing the sky. Now, we have, for the most part, gone from dozens of gods directly manipulating the world around us to a single god who has no discernible impact on us or our environment.

I should point out there are exceptions. Many people still believe in astrology, homeopathy, ghosts, ESP and many other beliefs that, to the best of our ability to detect them, have no basis in reality and thus present no good reason to believe in them. On the whole, however, we are far less superstitious than we used to be, and that trend has been continuing for a long time.

My conclusion, therefore, is that our belief in gods will just naturally disappear over time, much as our belief in leprechauns naturally disappeared over time.

The concerted efforts of determined individuals and groups may speed that up or slow it down. But the trend appears irreversible.
And that, as they say, is all she wrote.

Bad Company

So, while every other blogger is delivering who-knows-what boring shit for you to read and look at, what is it that makes this blog so damned special that you should donate and follow it?

Well, we'll tell you:

No other blog is bringing you black rappers from Belize who shoot people, go to prison, and then come out Israeli Jews.

No other blog is bringing you preachers claiming Jesus had AIDS.

No other blog is so well versed in Lady GaGa that we can tell you she's a fruitcake for seances and (of course, as with all things NewAge) yoga.

No other blog is bringing you a strip poker-playing Jehovah's Witness.

And, finally, no other blog would dare to bring you the unfunny and despicable Russell Brand as a "great man of God" - but we do!

And that's why you should donate and follow us:

Because we're the best black-owned, atheistic, Right-wing Tea Party-supporting Rush Limbaugh-loving art and Rock 'N' Roll anti-cult outfit around.

But, then, ultimately - hey - it's your decision who you want to hang out with,...

Payback's A Motherfucker (Hide Your Mothers)

Awww, Woody Allen's NewAge movie has failed at the box office, and is probably one of his "worst-performing films ever".

He obviously didn't study The Secret close enough.

After your introduction to the world of Wicca, we're having a party where you can enjoy a bunch of Wiccan recipes. Then, when we've got you together in one place - you're all being arrested for rampant female fruitcakery.

The Devil might be to blame for American foreign policy. Keep it to yourselves.

Charlie Crist offered his political opponent a cross to drop out of the race.

Christ. Christ-ianity. Get it?

Yea, it's insanity, and he probably should've kept it to himself.

And now we know that conservative actor/icon Kelsey "Frasier" Grammer has kept it to himself that he's a paranormal, psychic-loving nutjob. But, considering he's also a despicable human being (and there's a picture of him leaping in the air) this should come as no surprise:

Like Woody Allen, he'll get what he deserves.
