You know, I really don't care if Romney (or anyone else) did or did not march with MLK. It isn't really a criterion for my voting -- it happened a long time ago and wasn't the only thing happening at the time, so not everyone running for office would have even had the opportunity...so not a criterion. What I'm finding interesting is: why would Romney feel the pressing need to say that? Especially when it was a baldfaced lie? And telling such blatant lies (or even feeling the need to engage in them) does cause me to question voting for someone -- one of my personal criterion if you will.
The same situation would take place with someone blatantly lying about sleeping with "that woman" or not inhaling -- I could have perhaps respected said politician a little more if he hadn't felt the need to tell such a blatant lie.
