Because Being In A Dark Theatre Is More Than Enough


Since Oprah Winfrey's got conservatives in an uproar over race, try this Forbes Magazine quote about her new movie on for size:
“It is that rarity of rarities, a moderately-budgeted, high-profile studio-funded wide release that is explicitly about the African American experience.”
Gee, I guess - if it's "rare" - that means it's hardly ever happened in this society white conservatives think is just fine, right? I guess they also never noticed the ol' "African American experience” never gets a roll out, unless there's a white guy or girl to be the "Mississippi Burning"-type star who saves us, huh? Blacks - being spectators to the telling of their own story - that's what's always seemed normal to white conservative critics. It has to be: 

 I've never heard a single one complain.

It's weird - the party that freed blacks now has nothing to say about how we're treated, except what Liberals say to conservatives:
