Should A Retelling Of MLK's Story Include The Adultery?

Two white directors have been trying to get a new biopic made, showing what MLK was "really like" but - along with King's family standing in the way - there still seems to be some disagreement, amongst his two closest associates, on the issue of Martin's fooling around:

 - Ambassador Andrew Young, strategist, negotiator, and lieutenant to Martin Luther King Jr.

- Rev. Ralph Abernathy, The Civil Rights Movement's #2, and the man MLK described as "the best friend that I have in the world."

So what do you think? Wanna see these guys in an black version of MAD MEN set in Baptist churches?

And, considering the track record, Spike Lee's question is raised again:

Can a white director know what it was "really like"?

  1. These sorts of stories were used to denigrate JFK and RFK but their legacies continue in other ways.

MLK's legacy will survive anything too.
