I've been covering Dr. King and the Teas today because I figured - since the Tea Party's rude and awkward show of embracing the great man's legacy on his birthday - their barely-hidden triumphalism (a slap in the face to black's enjoyment of the celebration) would soon backfire.
And, sure enough, my interest has already started to pay off, because somebody's found Martin Luther King, Jr. - in his own words - on conservatism, Barry Goldwater, and the Republicans:
That sounds about right.
I guess all that talk the Democrats do - about how Republicans "switched sides" to the nation's racists - isn't so far-fetched, is it?
Hey, if they'll lie about Martin Luther King, the color of their skin - and the content of their character - say they'll lie about anything.
ADDED:
This Tea Party/Martin Luther King charade should end now,…
Don't look to the person, but to the content of their character.
ReplyDeleteNothing "King" about that.
ReplyDeleteI never did understand what Lem sees in those people. They use him to host a forum in which they get to bully, harrass and spew racist shit. It's become the perfect little outreach blog of Trooper York. He and his troupe of chimps have taken over the zoo. The faux morality over there is a farce. Lem allows commenters such as Sixty Grit, President Mom Jeans, ShoutingThomas and lessor bullies such as Haz and passive aggressive ninnies like Chickenlittle to run the blog and run over him. Crack, they were only your friends until the moment you insisted on mentioning the unmentionable, racism and the part they play in it and the benefits they reap because of it. They wanted you as their token, you obviously dissapointed them and now they think you deserve a good lashing because you had the balls to leave the plantation with your head high and defiant. It's no wonder some of their best commenters, such as Freeman Hunt no longer comment there. It's a sewer.
ReplyDeleteWhy anonymous, Anonymous?
ReplyDeleteWhen people post anonymously here, it's hard to tell them apart. There's at least one Anonymous here who is virulently racist. I assume that's not you, but it's easier to keep people straight when there are unique monikers.
