August 25, 2023, an angry white man tells me: "The history of slavery is nearly the history of mankind. Try to stop thinking you are special," as I consider even Dave Chappelle needing space from such people.
August 26, 2023: a white man fatally shoots 3 Black people at a Florida store in a hate crime, then kills himself, as I listen to blacks still teaching each other history, in our country that's still too ashamed to do it right.
