When Whites Who "Don't Think About Race" Are Forced

A lot of assholes say this, thinking they're clever.

Even a child can see this situation is screwy:

She doesn’t see it that way.  Every day she’s trying to figure out what happened.  She’s asking questions, trying to understand why she isn’t with her first mommy, the one who looks like her.  And she’s recently discovered that she’s in a white family.

I mean.  No adoption seminar on transracial parenting will prepare you for your daughter realizing she has a freaking white mom.  This is hard for her.

Recently she peeled back my eyelids one morning and asked why she’s the only “brown person” in the family.  She and I started naming all the “brown people” in our life — friends, neighbors, people at our church, people at school,…

But no matter how many “brown people” I name and how many “brown” children we adopt or foster, I will always be her white mom and she will always long for her first mom.

The number of foster homes, I was in, never changed my sense of identity,...

The scene is a chaotic house in the Dublin suburbs filled with the cries of four little children. Born to a feckless father and an inept mother, they have been dumped into the care of their grandparents, who plainly cannot cope.

The year is 1940 and, desperate to reduce their burden, the grandparents arrange for the two youngest of the brood — twin brothers, aged six months — to be adopted by a trusted family friend from London.

The friend’s name is Pamela Lyndon Travers. And as the author of a popular new children’s book about a nanny with magical powers, the eccentric writer — who is unmarried and yearns for a son — seems the ideal person.

When she arrives, however, she blithely insists she can only take one of the twins and (having consulted her astrologer to ensure she has made the right selection) picks the first-born boy, the bonnier and more placid of the two.

The chosen twin, Camillus Hone, is duly whisked away to a life of wealth and privilege amid London’s fashionable literary circle. But his rejected brother, Anthony, is left behind in Ireland, to be foisted onto neglectful relatives.

Thus, on the whim of one self-centred woman, were two lives mapped out.

After she did a post, on whites adopting black kids and the importance of black culture, I wrote this on Ann's blog. I'm putting it here, slightly re-edited, because everyone needs to know it:

I don't know how many whites would explain police abuse happening to their child unless they delved into issues like racism or racial bias. Or how that child would learn to endure it, without he or she having some input from other blacks.

How anyone thinks most black children in America can survive without black culture - an understanding of it, including both it's strengths and weaknesses - is beyond me.

Two last things: 

1) Black descendants of slaves are, as far as I know, the only people on Earth with no direct line anywhere but to slavery. We are, at best, from West Africa - a quarter of a continent, not even a country. That leaves us as both deprived and unique.

So if you think it's the same as having a family from Italy, Germany, Ireland or whatever, you're mistaken. People from those places don't feel bad, when others "return to their country of origin," because they don't have one. As kids, they don't feel weird when everyone's running around screaming, "Kiss me, I'm Irish!" or celebrating Christopher Columbus, when nobody ever celebrates anybody or anything from Africa. I could go on, but the reverberations from slavery are many, and they are profound, and to think simply having a loving family (of any color or culture) can fill in the void it leaves in black lives is an ignorance of astounding magnitude. A lot of whites speak without knowledge, when it comes to the importance of black culture to black lives, and any black kid raised hearing and believing what they say is certainly destined to be damaged.

 

 2) George Carlin told you: 

 “You take 5 white guys and you take 5 black guys and put em together for a week and what you won't have is 5 blacks guys talking like, 'Golly gee, we really won that big basketball game' but you will have 5 white guys talking like 'Yo slick, whuzzup...we be shootin hoops and mad playin, slammed those mofos”

And that, my friends, shows you both the importance and strength of black culture. 

 To deprive any black child of that proud and commanding sense of identity is a crime.

 I'm sorry for your (obvious and many) racial resentments, honestly, but that's the truth,...

 

The 1st Is Approaching: Soon - My "Welfare Check Day"

Alright, it's 3AM and I just woke up for no reason - an hour ago. Great. 

A cup of coffee, to wash down a 88 cent TV dinner, and here I am, violently disagreeing with Soundgarden's Kim Thayil about bandleaders, but completely understanding when it comes to Smashing Pumpkins' Billy Corgan:

“If you’ve got a band where one guy calls the shots, that’s a band that’s going to suck. Because the guy might have bad thoughts in his head. Well I just came out of sobriety and I’ve got this idea for a rock record, I just married my third wife and I have this new idea for a rock record.”

I've told you, you gotta watch the multi-spouse thing, because - like gays trying to be straight or straights "experimenting" with being gay - that's a give away you don't know what's going on, and people notice these things. That's why Kim mentioned it. 

I also like that he compared it to those "inspired" by quitting drugs. They always become defensive assholes, too. (You ever been around somebody who just started?) 

Fuck, if Soundgarden hasn't always sounded like somebody taking a dump, Kim Thayil would be my hero.

Is Richard Dawkins a dick? 

 Well, I know he has one, anyway. And somebody running a church, or school, apparently played with it and little Dickie Dawkins doesn't care. 

Compared to most people, I think that makes him more "odd" than anything else, don't you?

Along with all the other hilarious (and "resentful") comments received, surrounding news Mitt Romney's got an adopted grandchild, a black conservative found time to make a fool of himself by writing "with the taxes the Romneys pay, they already have adopted an entire city of ignorant black people." 

Really?

That's news to me - and without the Mormon "church" around us?

Too bad the country couldn't have gotten a guarantee, on that deal, when he ran for president:

My Country Tis Of Thee / Sweet Land Of Take My Child

I've found a tragic article that says everything about America that needs to be said:

The increasing numbers of African children being adopted by white parents, especially white celebrities,  has sparked a debate among African-Americans that has raged on for years. While that debate is ongoing, few people are aware that increasingly, whites overseas parents are adopting African-American children.

CNN detailed a young girl named Elisa van Meurs, 13, who lives a privileged life of horseback riding and vacationing in the Swiss Alps with her Polish parents. She is African-American and has met her birth family, who acknowledged that they just didn’t have enough money to care for her.

There's a reason to wave the flag, huh? And here I was, thinking I had it rough because I didn't have enough money to finish college. These folks didn't have enough to finish parenting. (My parents didn't, either.) Shit, most blacks have never taken a real vacation - or even flown on an airplane - in their lives. So what's the problem? Somebody gives us a clue:

“There’s too much prejudice over here. The white people are going to hate him because he’s half black, and the majority of black people are going to hate on him because he’s half white. And then he’ll have to do extra things to prove what kind of a Negro he is, and extra things to prove what kind of a honky he is and I don’t want that. I did not want that for my kid.”

Better to get them out of here then. Away from all this obsessive race nonsense, political craziness, and damned chaos. Let the kid ride horses somewhere, where a black kid can be a kid, in peace. 

Their own country is sick.

Monsters Defining Normal Makes Me Hungry For Truth

I wasn't going to write on this, but then stupid-assed Think Progress had to go and mention Foster care, which I know a thing or two (or a billion) about:

During oral arguments on same-sex marriage last week Justice Scalia argued against recognizing marriage equality by pointing to what he perceives as the potential harm that could befall children if same-sex couples could eventually adopt: 

SCALIA: If you redefine marriage to include same-sex couples, you must  permit adoption by same-sex couples, and there’s considerable disagreement among sociologists as to what the consequences of raising a child in a single-sex family, whether that is harmful to the child or not. Some states do not permit adoption by same-sex couples for that reason. 

Scalia’s bigoted words contain a host of flawed assumptions. For starters, his comments are part of a discriminatory narrative that same-sex parents are inferior at best, or abusive at worst. But, as Ezra Klein pointed out, “there’s no evidence that gay parents aren’t great parents.” According to the American Sociological Association, “whether a child is raised by same-sex or opposite-sex-parents has no bearing on a child’s wellbeing.” A host of other reputable groups — including the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Child Welfare League of America — agree with that conclusion. 

Not only is Scalia’s comment about the scientific literature on LGBT parents outright wrong, his words also presume that there are no LGBT children in foster care and in need of adoption. But, in fact, the best evidence we have shows that LGBT foster youth are overrepresented in foster care, in part because of the discrimination they experience in their schools and families of origin. And there are documented instances of foster parents refusing to accept LGBT youth into their homes, kicking them out of their homes, or otherwise isolating them once they are placed in their home. Does Justice Scalia think, without a shred of evidence, that placing these children in homes with LGBT parents would somehow harm them more than the outright bigotry they already experience?

Oh, fuck them. Other than the fact I was abandoned by my parents, one of the worst aspects of Foster Care was encountering gays and having to sort out what they were up to - as a child. (That wasn't difficult, with them constantly trying to crawl in my bed each night - which got me in trouble for fighting, of course,...great people and system they had there, I tell you,...). Whether it was the kids or the counselors, they were all perverts, with nothing more on their minds than turning the Foster homes into either brothels or bath houses behind the world's back. I repeat: 

 Behind the world's back. 

 That's why the American Sociological Association, and "a host of other reputable groups" know nothing about what they're talking about, or are covering up what they do know. I was actually in the places they only visit and talk about, and my disgust is a reflection of that. But, of course, they don't care about what a straight black male had to endure at their hands, just as they don't care now. It's all NewAge bullshit. Like I said, fuck 'em all:

Minge: “Whaaaat!”

That was the scream Minge reportedly let out on hearing her application for transfer of title for a child was denied.

According to the Daily Mail:

“She kept burying her face in her hands,” said the source. “She was really in shock.”

We thought we heard a report that Minge became worried when she first learned the judge this time is a woman. It’s said she complained “I was within a hand-job or two of pulling this off, and now everything is ruined”.

O.K., ponder this:

Can it really be said a child would be better off with the excessive wealth of a woman without discernable values, morals or even decency? Does the money cancel out the malignant narcissism, public promiscuity, bad temper, oppressive Kabbalah rules and a revolving door of pissed off nannies?

If Minge were to set aside her own slimy agenda, she could simply build a house for the baby and her family, fund a business where they could all work and then leave them alone.

Minge Demands Extended Warranty For Human, Talks Delayed

Talks between Malawi officials and Minge are being delayed while the government considers her latest offer for a daughter. The reported sticking points are the warranty and return clause, and the size of the bribes.

Minge reportedly said “I usually don’t bother with a warranty, when I get fed up I just toss them and ridicule them from the stage during my concerts, but now my people tell me this might not be legal with a child.”

When asked how she would spend the four day delay, she mentioned traveling to Fargo, North Dakota, where “I heard they need volunteers to help with tea-bagging, and I like to do my part”. When it was pointed out that they need help with sandbagging, not tea-bagging, Minge shrugged and said “whatever”, retreating to her hotel room.

One of my regular readers is in China, adopting the cutest fucking kid in the world, and all I can do is sit here, feeling jealous: jealous of him, jealous of the kid, jealous of fucking China.
