Putting The Cart Before The Horse (Is The Easy Way To Make A Life Harder)

Political partisanship appears to cause almost every major writer, who sees the world as I do, to forget or ignore (or maybe they were already oblivious to) Andrew Breitbart's admonition that politics lives downstream from culture. So - by putting the emphasis on the wrong people: politicians - they've pointed their readers in the wrong direction, in almost the exact same wrong way, to end up telling the exact same wrong story, over and over again:
Francis Wheen discovered - almost immediately - he blew his NewAge thesis by attaching Margaret Thatcher to it.
Christopher Locke revealed the weakness in his argument, through the Republican-to-hate of the moment, George W. Bush.
And Kurt Andersen of The New York Times (of course) spirals down the drain by being unable to resist the zeitgeist, and attaching Donald Trump to his, otherwise sound, theories.
They're all wrong, with TMR's point being - even if they weren't - we wouldn't have any of them without a NewAge MOVEMENT, and that puts the ball back in the court of an Oprah or Deepak or Shirley MacLaine or Arianna Huffington or Gary Lachman or any of the other frauds and cult leaders assisting The Democrat Party in distorting reality, and thus, the American way of life.

Welcome: Whites Are Now Living In Cloud Cuckoo Land

"The ANC is a typical terrorist organization ... Anyone who thinks it is going to run the government in South Africa is living in cloud-cuckoo land."
- Margaret Thatcher

"Good riddance. She was a staunch supporter of the apartheid regime. She was part of the right-wing alliance with Ronald Reagan that led to a lot of avoidable deaths."
- The ANC's Pallo Jordan, upon news of Thatcher's passing

Keeping Everything Level (When It's All Out Of Balance)

Ramesh Ponnuru has a funny voice - and some advice for the Republican Party:
"Young voters are less likely than older voters to be married, white or Christian, all of which would make them less likely to be Republicans even if they were older. The party’s poor performance among young voters is partly a sign that they do badly with nonwhites and that nonwhites are a growing share of voters.
It is probably a mistake for Republicans to spend a lot of time targeting young voters. They should concentrate more, for example, on doing better among nonwhite voters, which would improve their numbers among the young, too. And above all, they ought to have something more compelling to say about voters’ daily economic concerns. Young voters are just like their elders in wanting that."

Not bad, not bad. Camille Paglia is suggesting we think of Joan Rivers as an 'Iconic Feminist Role Model', which I also don't have a problem with. I don't know how much I care about the Chinese farmer jailed for making a rubber alien. He was in China and it's not nice to fool people.

Mick Jagger admired Margaret Thatcher. That's alright. And if the “golden age” of magazines was brought to me by white dudes, well, more power to 'em. They're probably responsible for a lot of shit.

If we're honest,...

I Like Real Women (And They Seem To Like Me, Too,...)

You know, the difference between a good woman and a bad one has been thrown into such stark relief today, with the death of Thatcher. Maggie wasn't letting men down. She was different. She was a Woman - not some fucking alien. I knew women like her growing up.

I don't know what the rest of them are now,...

Margaret Thatcher Is Dead (October 1925 – April 2013)

I talk a lot of shit about women, but so few live up to expectations, it's practically impossible not to.

But not Margaret Thatcher.

The Iron Lady proved there was something more than the venal, small-minded "feminist" version - and that men will respond to it, welcome it, and, yeah, even defend it if necessary. She was no nonsense, decisive, attractive, and stood head-and-shoulders above her so-called "sisters" when it comes to just about everything.

Margaret Thatcher was a "real woman" in every sense of the phrase, and anyone, male or female, looking for someone to emulate should look here. They'll find it.

My sincere condolences to her family.

Sleep well, baby,...

More Odds And Ends To End Our Recent Oddity

Somehow she got away with it, without ever showing us her tits, and even trying to be sexy, or resorting to NewAge ideas - let's hear it for a woman showing real leadership:
It was the exclamation marks that did it for me. When I was one of Margaret Thatcher’s youthful aides I wrote her many notes of advice, which would come back covered in comments from her vigorous blue felt-tip pen.

The lady was never a pushover and frequently I failed to convince her. There would be remarks scribbled in the margin, all too often a simple ‘No!’ My male pride could deal with rejection, but not that brutal exclamation mark.

It felt like a dagger to the heart.

Yet compared to some of her Cabinet Ministers, I got off lightly. The release of confidential Cabinet records from 1980, her first full year as Prime Minister, reveals Westminster as a battlefield with Mrs T laying into opponents and doubters on all sides.

In Opposition, some had openly mocked her as the Finchley Housewife; now, out of earshot even her friends began calling her La Pasionaria (a heroine of the Spanish Civil War who declared: ‘They shall not pass’), Attila the Hen and The She-Elephant.

She shouted at the Governor of the Bank of England. She berated her Chancellor. A paper from Peter Walker, a Cabinet ‘wet’ who urged compromise with Europe, was sent back not simply with the stark ‘No!’ scribbled in the margin four times but even a capitalised ‘NO!’ to make sure the message got through.

She didn’t waste time on compromise, she relished the battle of wills and ideas, and sometimes that battle grew almost physical. Her ‘handbaggings’ became notorious.

‘It was like facing the chariot of Queen Boadicea,’ a Minister whispered to me in awe, ‘complete with whirling blades.’
That's what we're looking for, but these idiots now'a'days are too pussy. Like when they spend so much time asking, "Is this a cult?" that, by the time they get around to answering the question, the damn thing's already destroyed people's lives. Let's make a deal in this New Year:

If you have to ask, you end it - are we clear?

Here's another one - free tattoo removal for girls.

And another one:

Let's all agree there's no "faith-based healing" and arrest anyone who says otherwise - starting with Oprah Winfrey.

And, finally, forget "socialized medicine" in America - or anything else being socialized - just forget it.

The Democratic Party: From KKK To Saying O.K.

"In the U.S., the Democratic Party, home of the modern left-liberal, was the party of slavery and Jim Crow.

The most racially charged political campaign in recent U.S. history was the Democratic primary contest between Obama and Hillary Clinton. The racism of the left is far more insidious than a simple mistrust or fear of foreigners; it seeks to divide people into groups which can then be exploited and played against each other for political gain.

...Those prepared to use violence in the furtherance of core left-wing aims such as the destruction of capitalism, the abolition of property rights, and the usurpation of democratically elected governments by 'enlightened' revolutionaries number in the millions, if not the tens of millions.

They range from Hitler, Stalin, and Pol Pot to present-day dictators like Chavez and the Castros, terrorist groups such as Bill Ayers’ Weather Underground and the Baader-Meinhof gang, and environmental extremists and anti-capitalist rioters,....

The reasons why violence is so prevalent on the left go to the heart of the differences between left and right. If you take race, religion, and other 'human' factors out of the equation, the distinction is really between authoritarianism and collectivism on the left and freedom and individualism on the right. There’s no doubt which is the more attractive option for most people, all things being equal, which is why the left has to blur the distinctions and muddle the language.

This distinction is summed up in two quotes from great figures in British political history. The first, by Winston Churchill, goes something like this: 'Any man who is under 30, and is not a liberal, has no heart; and any man who is over 30, and is not a conservative, has no brains.' (There are several versions of the quote, and variations have been attributed to other political figures.)

The second, by Margaret Thatcher: 'The facts of life are conservative.'"
