Tell Me If You've Heard This One (Mormons Are "Nice"...)

It's really weird how this bloggy-thingy "works" - my ignorant ass will say something, and then all I have to do is wait, because the "big" thinkers are going to echo it, weeks or months (or years?) later:

“[The Romney] campaign’s monomaniacal belief that it’s about the economy and only the economy, and that they need to keep telling us stupid voters that it’s only about the economy, has gone from being an annoying tick to a dangerous self-delusion.”
- Bill Kristol

Bigotry! A cultist (and his followers) lost in "a dangerous self-delusion"? Say it ain't so!

And - Oh - I almost left out another aspect of how the blogosphere "works":

Glenn Reynolds will gladly post the Johnny-Come-Latelys, kinda giving himself credit - for stirring debate - while willfully ignoring those who speak first.

Man, that guy is informative,...

  1. Never heard this one. It's quite disturbing that people can think about those things.

  2. I'm just hoping he crashes and burns before the convention -- Obama is a disaster, but Romney is no better. That's the reason he can't do anythng but keep repeating that the economy is bad + his own, Republican version of Obama's '08 strategy.
He's got nothing else...zero, zip, nada.

If people look into him and his inner circle (including his family) a whole bunch of really questionable, if not ugly stuff pops up. If people look into his record, the same thing. If people look into his core beliefs, well, magic underwear is about it and it is a pretty gut churning study of itself.
People can lie all they want to about his family values (Dems said the same of Barry) or his great genius (ehem, cough, wasn't Barry supposed to be too bright for us as well?); they can fear monger about the world/America ending if the other guy gets in....but in the end it's just a pretty story they tell to themselves, and pretty stories are sometimes used when people don't want to admit they've been conned (ask Joe Smith's followers).
Which, now that I mention it:

Mark Leavitt and Orrin Hatch! Personnel is policy -- and what does this say about what Mitt really wants to enact as policy?
Republicans, you sure you want to give your name to this stuff?
Sometimes "winning" is really losing, especially when you help a loser to win.
