There Are So Many Ways To See What's Not There (Yet)

There's something more important than spin. Leave it to an emergency to finally allow that truth out. And delivered by Chris Christie, the Republicans truth-teller. Not that it'll make a difference to anybody. This is the NewAge. Truth doesn't matter. Here's Ann Althouse:

Maybe it makes you Mitt Romney supporters nervous to see Chris Christie working smoothly with President Obama. You need to visualize the alternative. Governor Christie is doing exactly the right thing. 

Mitt Romney likes to portray himself as a Republican who can work "across the aisle," and Chris Christie is modeling that very behavior. Message: That's what Republicans do. That's a good message, speaking to the very moderates who might drift over to Obama if the Republicans created friction and rancor in the wake of the hurricane.

Forget this isn't Romney, but Christie, and he isn't "the least bit concerned or interested" in Romney right now - Ann's in "political operative" mode and that truth is irrelevant - spin is called for. Let me remind you of what she said when I called her immature over her advertised purchase of a "cartoon" purse:

@Crack Have you ever considered the possibility of being fun-loving? Actually loving fun?

"Bubble, bubble, toil and trouble,…" Ignore the truth of her character, and spin to "fun" - which, in the NewAge, is the highest calling a 60-year old adult professor can reach for. The rubes will follow.

Now she's keeping the "fun" in a disaster - even when politics are being ignored.

Maybe the cow at Evil Blogger Lady can answer this but, is it just me, or should Ann change her blog photo to one of her readers dancing around a golden calf?

For a further example of what I mean, compare Ann's outlook with this statement from a leader of the Mormon "church":

“I have a hard time with historians, because they idolize the truth. The truth is not uplifting.”

See? He might as well have asked, "Have historians ever considered the possibility of being fun-loving? Actually loving fun?" The result would be the same. To those inclined to be followers.

Speaking of results, The Daily Mail has a story about two "psychics" who failed a test of their abilities. Miserably. One correct answer out of ten. But here's the take-away line:

Despite the results, the psychics were undeterred.

Of course they are. And - without a total disaster to clear the air - there's nothing we can do about this. This fantasy land of "fun" during disaster is the Nazi outlook personified, and they will insist on it, shoving their idiotic message down our throats until the day they are defeated.

Truth? What is truth in the NewAge?

It's an all-encompassing disaster - one there's no escaping from - like the constitutional crisis looming for a Romney presidency, specifically, because of Mormonism.

Something Ann Althouse - a professor who teaches religion and the law - should see coming, just as I do, but isn't bothering to explore. She's having "fun" even when there is none. Mark my words:
